Training Programs


Marine & Offshore High Voltage Courses

  • High Voltage Management Level (MCA approved) (5 days): This course is fully accredited by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) aims to provide seafarers responsible for the on-board safe control and management of high voltage power systems with the knowledge and training to do so safely and effectively. Our training directly aligns with the requirements outlined in Table A-III/2 STWC, 2010. This course is specifically designed to meet the regulatory requirements of Tables A-III/1 (operational level) of the Annex to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978, as amended. This course is ideally suited for Marine Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Vessel Superintendents and Surveyors.
  • Authorized Marine/Offshore Safe Operation of HV Power Systems (3 days): This training course is designed to give you (subject to client approval) the ability to enter marine/offshore high voltage switch rooms to perform limited switching operations etc. on high voltage equipment. After completion, you will be permitted to issue limited safety documents (for example isolation documents) but will not be able to issue permits to work, sanctions for testing etc. After completing all of the modules, you’ll take part in both a written examination and also take part in a practical examination. Both most be passed to receive the qualification.
  • Marine & Offshore Senior Authorized Person Safe Switching of HV Power Systems (5 days): This training program is designed to bring the knowledge of marine and offshore personnel up to a competency level suitable for Senior Authorized Persons. By completing this program, you will improve your understanding of both high voltage and low voltage power systems, focusing on statutory regulations, safe operation and maintenance on a wide range of marine and offshore power equipment. You will learn to safely perform HV switching operations on marine/offshore power equipment and to prepare yourself for HV authorization in accordance with your companies’ safety rules and regulations.
