OOW Oral Prep

  • Officer of the Watch (OOW) Course: The RBMT oral prep course is designed to cover the full syllabus for the MCA OOW <3,000 GT Yacht oral exam as set out in MSN 1858. Students get an RBMT text book for the course with key phases and requirements for all of the items covered and to make notes in during the course. This can then be used as a key revision resource up to the day of the exam. 
  • Throughout the course students have full access to the comprehensive RBMT library of publications, charts and navigational instruments to reference and use. Students will also get 3 individual mock exams to properly evaluate their knowledge level and identify areas that need additional revision/knowledge.

OOW Prep Cards

  • Officer of The Watch (OOW) Training Cards: These cards have been developed to help candidates establish a solid foundation of knowledge for the OOW oral exam.
  • The cards have been split into color coded topic groups of - Legislation and Publications, Checklists and Emergency Checklists, IRPCS (Rules of the Road), Lights and Shapes, Buoyage, and Flags.
