The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) was formed in 2010 through the merger of the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen, under Lampeter’s Royal Charter of 1828. In 2013, Swansea Metropolitan University became part of UWTSD.

The UWTSD Group includes Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion as part of a dual sector group structure comprising further education colleges and the university. The UWTSD Group has over 25,000 learners across 17 campuses in rural and city locations. Together they deliver clear, tangible benefits for learners, employers, industry and communities by offering a vocational approach from entry level to post-doctoral research.

The University’s main campuses are situated in various locations in and around Swansea’s city centre as well as in the rural towns of Lampeter and Carmarthen in South West Wales.

Academic Programs


Undergraduate Programs

  • BSc / HND in Logistics and Transport (BSc 3 years f/t - up to 6 years p/t; HND 2 years f/t - up to 4 years p/t): This degree is designed to develop graduates with the knowledge and skills required to start a career in the transport sector. Logistics and transport offers a career that will continually develop an individual’s potential and reward ambition in a challenging global environment. Since the demand for logistics professionals outstrips the supply, there are excellent opportunities for rapid career progression for those with the drive to succeed.
  • BSc / HND in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (BSc 3 years f/t - up to 6 years p/t; HND 2 years f/t - up to 4 years p/t): The programs are designed to ensure that prospective and practicing managers have a sound understanding of the operational, technical and personal aspects of the day-to-day management of all types of logistic operations, their facilities and infrastructure.  

Masters Programs

  • MSc Logistics (part-time, distance, online; 1-2 years): The MSc in Logistics is designed around three themes: logistics, business management and research. The program is underpinned by the study of logistics strategies and operations. Logistics management offers a career that will continually develop an individual’s potential and reward ambition in a challenging global environment. And since the demand for logistics professionals outstrips the supply, there are excellent opportunities for rapid career progression for those with the drive to succeed. Careers in logistics management offer early responsibility, exciting challenges with good remuneration and opportunities to travel.

CILT(UK) Programs

  • CILT(UK) Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport (QCF): This vocational qualification is designed to develop students with the knowledge and skills required to attain a higher management role in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management sector. Students can attend classes either in person in Swansea or virtually via webcasting and all lectures are recorded for viewing later.   There are four mandatory modules and one research module which results in the production of a major report
  • CILT(UK) Level 5 Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport (QCF): This vocational qualification is designed to develop students with the knowledge and skills required to attain a management role in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management sector. Students are expected to complete four modules:  1 x Mandatory; 1 Elective module and 2 Optional modules.   It is possible to complete 2 Elective modules and 1 Optional module if wished.
