Founded in 2002 as Nevada State College, Nevada State University (NSU) is a public, four-year university located in Henderson, Nevada. It is a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education and holds designations as a Minority Serving Institution, Hispanic Serving Institution, and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Institution. The university’s main campus spans 509 acres in the southern foothills of Henderson and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
The college has grown to offer more than 30 majors and 25 minors, including predominant areas of study such as business, biology, psychology, education, criminal justice, and nursing. In addition, Nevada State University offers a Master of Education program in Speech-Language Pathology, Education Specialist program in School Psychology, and a Master of Science in Nursing program in Nursing Leadership. Since 2004, Nevada State University has graduated over 5,400 students. Over half of NSU’s alumni have graduated with degrees in teaching and nursing.
