Established in 1994 and located in Lowestoft, North Sea Training Services (NSTS) provides small boat training services and emergency Response vessel support to the Offshore Oil and Gas and Merchant shipping sectors. North Sea Training Services is an OPITO approved organization specializing in emergency response vessel operations.

NSTS provides industry and client specific training to meet UK standards of practice in offshore and marine operations specializing in emergency response and is also a provider of fully tested ongoing onboard development and training programs.


Comprising of Master Mariners, Marine Paramedics and small work and Rescue Boat Skippers providing a wide range of services to the marine industries worldwide, NSTS is able to offer clients a positive and reliable source of marine services that encourage the realistic achievement of operational goals in health, safety and operational management.

North Sea Services Provide an Ongoing Program of Competency Based Training for the crews of U.K. emergency response and rescue vessels. A System of Scenario based training units are provided to the vessel operator for continuous practice of emergency response skills, Coupled with Comprehensive questioning and feedback reporting.

Medical & Emergency Courses

  • Advanced Medical Aid: This Course is designed to meet the standard requirements of an Advance Medical Aider on board a emergency response and rescue vessel. Delegates gain certification by showing an acceptable standard via examination, continual assessment and a high standards of performance. Assessment is via a qualified assessor.
  • Advanced Medical Aid Further Training: This Course is designed to meet the standard requirements of an Advance Medical Aider on board a emergency response and rescue vessel. Delegates follow a program of explanation, demonstration and practical scenario training to give advanced knowledge of immediate care, to include defibrillation, laryngeal mask airway and intravenous fluids and advanced management techniques for an injured person.
  • Emergency Response Testing: Meeting industry requirements for a marine emergency response cooperation plan (ERCOP) is a specialist activity which requires a thorough understanding of current legislation and best practice for assuring and testing resources.
