Established in 1959, Broward College (BC) is a state college in Fort Lauderdale Florida and part of the Florida College System. The college offers Certificates, associate degree and four year bachelor’s degree programs and has 3 main campuses in Florida - Hugh Adams Central Campus in Davie, Judson Samuels South Campus in Pembroke Pines, and the North Campus in Coconut Creek. Besides the campuses, the college has around 6 centers in Florida 4 international centers around the world. The Marine program is conducted in Miramar, FL.
Broward College offers the 60 credit-hour AA degree that transfers to the State University System Bachelor's Degree with the complete 36 credit-hour Baccalaureate General Education requirement and the opportunity to choose appropriate elective courses.
While Certificate and AAS degree programs prepare students for immediate employment, AS degree programs prepare students for employment as well as transfer to specific baccalaureate programs in the Florida College and the State University Systems.
Broward College is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) to award associate’s degrees in Marine Management. The Marine Program is accredited by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) as well. The Supply Chain Management degree prepares students for industry certifications offered by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

Logistics & Supply Chain Programs
- B.A.S. in Supply Chain Management (online program also available): The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program in Supply Chain Management (SCM) is designed to develop a professional and competent supply chain manager. Students, who successfully complete the Supply Chain Management degree program, will gain technical hands-on skills through case studies and an independent study research project or practicum/internship; which will include analysis and problem solving through simulations and similar activities. Students pursuing the degree in Supply Chain Management will complete an additional 60 hours consisting of 18 hours of general education and 42 hours of upper-division professional coursework.
- A. S. Degree in Supply Chain Management Operations: The Associate of Science degree in Supply Chain Management Operations prepares students for initial employment with the basic and cross-functional skills necessary for working in areas such as planning, procurement, flow and distribution of goods and services. Completion of the degree takes two years and consists of 18 hours of General Education courses, 33 hours of Business courses and 9 hours of logistics courses. Upon completing this program, graduates will be eligible to sit for the American Society of Transportation and Logistics Global Logistics Associate (GLA) certification.
- Technical Certificate in Logistics and Transportation Specialist (online program also available): The Logistics and Transportation Specialist Technical Certificate can be completed within two semesters with 18 credit hours, nine of which are in business and the other nine in logistics.
Marine Programs
- A.A.S. Degree in Marine Engineering Management: The Marine Engineering Management degree is designed to prepare students interested in a career in the large yacht maintenance, repair, and retrofit industry. Broward County is the world leader in the yacht industry and is in need of qualified technicians to work on yachts with diesel engines and sophisticated sustainable systems. Completers of the program may be employed in ship yards working on multi-million dollar vessels and the latest technology in marine equipment. The career may also include the option of being part of the on-board crew and traveling around the world. Career advancement in management is a probable progression in the field. Students will earn various American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Certifications.
- Marine Electrician, Technical Certificate: The content includes but is not limited to vessel nomenclature, safety, installation, diagnosing and troubleshooting marine electronic devices and systems.
- Marine Propulsion Technician, Technical Certificate: The content includes but is not limited to vessel nomenclature, safety, installation, diagnosing and troubleshooting marine electronic devices and systems, the installation and operation of diesel and gasoline engines; troubleshooting for diesel and gasoline engines; and engine maintenance.
- Marine Systems Technician, Technical Certificate: The content includes but is not limited to installation and operation; propeller selection; corrosion control; fiberglass hull repair; vessel nomenclature; safety, installation, diagnosing and troubleshooting marine electronic devices and systems including MSD, A/C & Refrigeration, desalinization systems, windless, hydraulics, fire suppression, and CNG & LPG systems.
- Marine Technology, Technical Certificate: The content includes but is not limited to installation and operation of diesel and gasoline engines; troubleshooting for diesel and gasoline engines; engine maintenance; propeller selection; and corrosion control.
