UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Founded in 1900, Birmingham represented a new model for higher education. This was England’s first civic university, where students from all religions and backgrounds were accepted on an equal basis. The University is located in the city of Birmingham, England. Birmingham was the first Redbrick University to gain a charter and thus university.

It is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of research universities and a founding member of Universitas 21. The student population includes around 16,500 undergraduate and 8,000 postgraduate students, making it the largest university in the West Midlands region and the 11th largest in the UK.

Birmingham Business School is the country's first Business School, established in 1902. The school teaches and research in all the major business subject areas. As well as contributing to academic debate worldwide. The MBA is ranked in the top 100 by the Economist Intelligence Unit, with 6th place in their 'Student Quality' ranking and 4th in Diversity of Recruiters. In recent years the MBA has been ranked the UK's number one program by the EIU.

Academic Programs

Masters Program

  • MBA in Strategy and Procurement Management (15 months full-time, up to 4 years part-time): This program offers a range of specialist professionally orientated modules designed for public and private sector managers with procurement responsibilities. It is designed to provide an opportunity for those involved in procurement to develop their skills and abilities, and to gain access to leading-edge thinking and research in procurement and supply chain management. Those teaching this MBA have had substantial practical experience of the modern procurement function in a range of manufacturing and service sector organisations.
  • This MBA is accredited by the UK's Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and students who successfully complete the MBA (SPM), and who also fulfil the relevant work experience requirements of CIPS, are also granted full membership of the institute. The programme is available on a full-time and part-time modular basis. Each module is delivered over two consecutive long weekends (seven days in total) in order to minimise disruption to your workplace commitments.
  • Entry Requirement: Applicants for the MBA (SPM) should have a good Honours degree or professional qualification such as CIPS graduate diploma, and should have three years' relevant work experience. International students from certain countries should have IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band OR TOEFL 93 overall: with no less than 22 in Reading, 21 in Listening, 23 in Speaking, 21 in Writing OR PTE Academic 59 in all four skills.
