Established in 1967, Suncoast Technical College (STC) (originally Sarasota County Vocational Technical Institute), is a technical and vocational school located in Sarasota, Florida. The school offers day and evening classes in over 40 technical programs in fields such as Automotive and Marine Technologies, Business Technologies, Computer Technologies, Health Science, Emergency Medical Services and more.

With over 5,000 students, STC has a diverse student population, with students of all ages and backgrounds enrolled in its programs. The faculty and staff at STC are dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment, with a focus on hands-on training and practical skills development.

Suncoast Technical College offers a Marine Service Technologies program designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the marine industry. The program provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work as technicians and mechanics in boatyards, marinas, and other marine-related businesses.

STC is a member of the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Marine League of Schools. ABYC assists with curriculum development and instructor training/certification to help ensure that the training provided is relevant and up to date.

Marine Service Technologies Program

  • Marine Service Technologies (1350 hours):  Marine Service Training Program provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the marine industry. Through hands-on training on marine engines, students learn how to use the tools, equipment, materials, and processes involved in this field. With the industry-specific skills learned through this program, students will be able to find success in this career field.
