Established in 1962, Pamlico Community College (PCC) is a fully accredited two year community college with programs in varied disciplines in Academic programs, Continuing Education programs, and Cultural Enrichment programs and located in Grantsboro, North Carolina. A contract program with East Carolina University enables students in appropriate programs to transfer on for a four-year education.

Workforce and career training programs at the Continuing Education department are comprised of courses designed for the specific purpose of training an individual for employment, upgrading the skills of persons presently employed, and others for new employment while maintaining industry standards and requirements.

Keeping with the maritime traditions of Pamlico County, PCC offers a comprehensive Marine Technology program through the Continuing Ed department.

Pamlico Community College is accredited with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award Associate Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates.

Training Programs

Marine Trades Programs

Boat Construction Principles: Topics will include lofting, techniques using wood and composite materials used in the boat-building industry, and the safe use of hand and power tools.

Marine Basic Diesel Engine and Generator Technology: This class provides instruction on marine diesel basics, which includes engine, cooling, lubrication, Electrical, air induction, fuel and electronics systems. Additionally, the course will include instruction on engine electronics, marine installations, and generators.

Marine Electronics: Learn the basics of electronics with a focus on marine systems! Students will apply the principles on the installation, maintenance, and repair of marine equipment.
