Supply Chain Management Education in Dallas NC

Celebrating nearly 50 years of service, Gaston College is one of 58 community colleges in the North Carolina Community College System. In January 1963, the college was granted a charter by the State of North Carolina, and began its first classes in temporary headquarters in September 1964. The college moved to its permanent campus on Highway 321 between Dallas and Gastonia two months later. Serving both Gaston and Lincoln counties, Gaston College enrolls over 6,000 students each term in curriculum programs and averages over 16,000 students annually in its Economic and Workforce Development / Continuing Education programs.

The twelve major buildings that comprise the Gaston College Dallas campus contain approximately 450,868 square feet. There is an efficient road system and parking for more than 2,000 cars. College facilities (including a 480-seat auditorium) are available for public use and may be scheduled through the Office for Finance and Facilities. Gaston College is a commuter institution and does not have dormitories or housing for rent.

As one of the state’s largest community colleges, Gaston College promotes lifelong learning and economic development by providing high quality educational programs and services. Over 100 programs of study are offered to help you obtain a diploma, certificate, or two year Associate Degree. Gaston College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees.

Academic Programs

Undergraduate Programs

  • AAS Degree in Supply Chain Management (68 credits): This Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree is a two-year program that prepares students for the workforce. Course work includes the international and domestic movement of goods from the raw materials source(s) through production and ultimately to the consumer. Courses in economics and finance, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, material handling, purchasing, computerization, supply chain operations, federal transportation and safety regulations are emphasized. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) recognizes the Supply Chain Management-Distribution Management Associate in Applied Science Degree for accreditation.
  • Certificate in Supply Chain Management (12 credits): The Supply Chain Management Certificate provides the basic knowledge necessary for a diverse set of occupations in transportation, warehousing, logistics, and inventory control.
