Online Captains License Courses by Mariners Learning System & Qualified Captain Boating Courses
Established in 2016, the Qualified Captain online and in-person boating courses to boost confidence and safety for new and experienced owners, using a curriculum from over 40 years of captain expertise. They collaborate with Mariners learning System (MLS) for the online training programs to become a USCG licensed captain.
They also offer a variety of marine merchandise available through its online store and qualified retailers. It also hosts the podcasts featuring sea stories, survivor tales, industry captains, and water enthusiasts.
The Online Boater Safety Courses are recognized by the US Coast Guard, the National Association of Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), and state boating agencies everywhere. The Qualified Captain State Boating Course fulfils state boating safety requirements and leads to a state Boating License.
The interactive program covers essential curriculum plus practical skills like docking a boat, on-water situational awareness, trailering, boat ramp etiquette, and real-world mishap videos for learning without consequences, all delivered in an educational and entertaining style.
Training Programs
Online Boating Courses
- Florida Boater Online Safety Course: In Florida, if you were born on or after January 1, 1988, and intend to operate a motorized boat with an engine of 10 hp or more, you must take a boating safety course.
- North Carolina Boating License Online Course: In North Carolina, if you were born on or after January 1, 1988, you must complete a boater safety course.
- How To Drive a Boat with Confidence: From driving to docking, and sandbars to sunset cruises, learn how to make your day on the water enjoyable instead of stressful.
- Trailering Your Boat & How to Avoid Boat Ramp Disasters: This course teaches trailer selection, boat fitting, underway trailering, ramp etiquette, proper launching/loading, and avoiding ramp disasters.
- How to Safely and Properly Run an Inlet: This course teaches proper transit preparation, inlet exit techniques, inlet entry techniques, and keeping passengers safe and comfortable.
MLS Programs
- OUPV / Six Pack: The USCG OUPV/Six-Pack Captain's License lets you operate uninspected vessels, both power and sail, up to 100 GT with up to six paying passengers plus one crew.
- Master 25/50/100 Tons: The USCG Master License allows the holder to operate inspected vessels as well as uninspected vessels. Any vessel that is certified by the USCG to carry more than 6 paying passengers plus crew must have a Boat Captain who holds a 25/50/100 Ton Master license.
