Port State Control (PSC) is a critical component of Maritime Safety and environmental protection. It refers to the process where authorities in a port state - where a ship is docked or anchored - inspect foreign-registered vessels to ensure they comply with international regulations and standards. Port State Control is a global system, with regional agreements such as the Paris MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in Europe, the Tokyo MoU in Asia-Pacific, and others around the world. These agreements help to coordinate efforts and share information, enhancing the overall effectiveness of PSC.

- Port State Control - Inspections (ABS, Liberia): The student will be offered a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of the Port State Control New Inspection Regime, as well as the USCG and AMSA requirements. Also, the course focuses increasingly on items that may result in the most common and critical as well as detainable deficiencies which could cause possible delays to ships and financial losses to operators and the means of how to avoid these deficiencies.
