Founded in 1963, the University of West Florida (also known as West Florida and UWF) is a mid-sized public university and located in Pensacola, with multiple locations throughout Northwest Florida including Emerald Coast. UWF offers more than 45 undergraduate degree programs, 25 master’s degree programs, two specialist degrees and a doctorate in education. UWF has a student population of 13,000 and an average class size of less than 40 students.

The University of West Florida (UWF) offers over 600 online course sections each semester that lead to undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as credit-earning certificates. UWF was recognized for its community engagement by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. UWF is a member institution of the State University System of Florida.

The University of West Florida is home to five academic colleges, offering a variety of undergraduate, graduate, specialist and doctoral degree programs.

The College of Business programs are accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Academic Programs

Undergraduate Programs

  • BA in Maritime Studies (full-time and online): The Maritime Studies program at UWF prepares students for a variety of occupations through the integration of diverse maritime themes. UWF's interdisciplinary program integrates other primary fields of study such as anthropology and archaeology, environmental studies, history, and government. Maritime Studies students will also gain structured field experiences in sampling, recording, and other practical aspects of professional work in the field environment. Field study and internships in underwater archaeology and overseas history are available. Students tailor their degree program to their individual interests. Core courses provide an overview of the main areas of study. Students complete their degree program with elective courses from a wide range of disciplines, such as anthropology/archaeology, marine biology, environmental studies, history, art history, literature, law, political science and leisure.
  • BSBA Supply Chain Logistics Management (full-time): Supply Chain Logistics Management course work will expose students to core supply chain management areas of logistics, transportation, materials planning and management, demand management, finished goods distribution, customer service, global and intermodal logistics, transportation brokerage and freight forwarding, logistics analytics, and procurement.

Graduate Programs

  • MBA with Supply Chain Logistics Management Emphasis (full-time and online): Graduates of the program are prepared for a variety of careers in the marketing and managing of logistics, transportation, and distribution services including positions such as supply chain logistics strategist, global intermodal transportation manager, and logistics distribution and terminal operations manager.
  • Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Logistics Management (full-time and online): Upon completion of the Supply Chain Logistics Management Certificate, the student will be able to apply knowledge of supply chain logistics management concepts to solve business management problems specific to domestic and global logistics and transportation operations.
