Located in Rossaveel, Ireland, Atlantic Marine Training provides dedicated training in the areas of powerboating, navigation, radio training, consultancy, and search and rescue training. As an Irish Sailing powerboat training center, RYA shore-based training center, and Department of Transport accredited VHF training provider, they have all the resources to support your personal or professional training requirements.
Atlantic Marine Training caters for students from all walks of life, from the beginner who just bought their own boat, to the fisherman working the seas all his life. With decades of experience, the team of expert instructors, assessors, and consultants, are always on hand to provide industry-leading support.
Atlantic Marine delivers the mobile VHF Radio course nationwide to commercial entities, universities, clubs, and other training centers. Training Programs
Irish Sailing Powerboat Courses
- Introduction to Powerboating (1 day): The aim of this course is to provide a short practical introduction to boat handling and safety on powerboats being used on all Irish waters.
- National Powerboat Certificate (3 days): The objective of this course is to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to safely, and effectively, skipper an open powerboat, by day, on inland and coastal waters with which they are familiar.
- Coastal Navigation for Small Boats (2 days): The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required, to safely navigate a boat by day and by night in coastal waters with which they are familiar.
- Intermediate Powerboat (2 days): The aim of this course is to develop boat handling, seamanship, pilotage and navigation skills up to the standards required to plan and execute safely and enjoyably short coastal passages by day, in fair weather conditions, in a planing powerboat.
- Advanced Powerboat (2-3 days): The aim of this course is to develop boat handling, seamanship, pilotage and navigation skills up to the standards required to drive a planing powerboat safely by day in all coastal waters and by night in coastal waters with which you are familiar.
- Safety Boat Course (2-3 days): The aim of this course is to introduce candidates to the techniques, skills, equipment and communications whilst at the same time ensuring that persons have the knowledge and skill to take charge of powerboats.
- Diveboat Coxswain Course (2 days): This course introduces and develops the skills necessary to take charge of a powerboat that is deploying and recovering divers on inland and coastal dive sites, by day, on waters with which the coxswain is familiar.
- Powerboat Instructor (4 days): The objective of this course is to deliver the Introduction to Powerboating and National Powerboat Certificate courses within the Irish Sailing National Powerboat Training Scheme.
- Advanced Powerboat Instructor (2 days): Advanced Powerboat Course in Irish Sailing National Powerboat Training Scheme.
Radio Courses
- VHF Radio - Short Range Certificate (2 days): The VHF Short Range Certificate is the radio license needed for anyone who operates a VHF radio on board a recreational or commercial craft in coastal or inland waters.
Other Courses
- Coastal Navigation for Small Boats (2 days): The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required, to safely navigate a boat by day and by night in coastal waters with which they are familiar.
