Established in 1967, Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) is a community college in Laconia, New Hampshire with over 1200 students. The college offers 29 associate degree programs and over 12 certificate programs in fields such as Marine Technology, Nursing, Fire Technology, Energy Services, Media Arts, and more.
Lakes Region Community College is part of the Community College System of New Hampshire, a public system of higher education consisting of seven independent colleges, plus local academic centers.
The Lakes Region Community College campus is located in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, adjacent to the Belknap Mountains and the Gunstock Ski Area. Laconia has a population of approximately 17,000, and Belknap County, in which the College is located, has a population of approximately 60,000.

Maritime Technology Programs
- AAS Degree in Maritime Technology & AAS in Maritime Technology (with Marine Technician Option): Upon successful completion of the Maritime Technology degree program requirements, graduates will - understand traditional and modern seamanship skills as it relates to different propulsion systems; understand the topic of coastal piloting and navigation and the proper installation of electronic equipment; demonstrate safe operation and maintenance of vessels; demonstrate prevention and safety response in first aid, personal survival, social responsibility and fire prevention; understand operational theory of internal combustion engines and their use in power generation and propulsion systems; and, understand hydraulic systems and their application to vessel steering, winching equipment and vessel trim systems.
- Certificate in Marine Mechanic (also option to have AAS degree in Maritime Technology): The curriculum includes - Marina Operations; Introduction to Outboard Motors; Introduction to Diesel Engines; Welding; Fiberglass, Refrigeration and Hydraulic Repairs; Low Voltage Electrical Systems; Marine Electronics; Advanced Outboards; Vessel Systems; and Advanced Welding.
