U.S. Coast Guard Captains Courses and NH Boating License Courses in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire
Located in Wolfeboro, NH, New Hampshire Outdoor Learning Center (NHOLC) offers classes in the woods and on the water. Classes are designed for all ages and experience levels to give you the best opportunity for success and enjoyment in the woods and on the waters of New England. Each workshop includes comprehensive classroom training and, in the field, hands-on experience.
Experiences and workshops include Boating/canoeing, Photography, Archery, Fishing and other skills such as Commercial Boater’s License and U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License. The NH Outdoor Learning Center offers comprehensive U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License training and testing. Classes are taught by highly skilled instructors in a casual learning environment that is highly conducive to maritime education.

Training Programs
U.S. Coast Guard Captains Courses
- Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV): The USCG Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV/SixPack Captain’s License) allows the holder to carry up to six paying passengers on uninspected vessels up to 100 gross tons (about 75-90 feet long).
- Master License: Operators of inspected passenger vessels are required to have this license. The license allows the operator to carry more than 6 passengers. Typical employment opportunities include charter boats, sailboats, ferries, excursion boats and whale watch boats. The vessel size will be limited to 25, 50 or 100 gross tons (GT), depending on your experience.
- Masters Upgrade: This include both the above courses and offered as a single package.
Boating License Courses
- NH Commercial Boating License Prep Course: The Commercial Boater’s License issued by Marine Patrol is known to be one of the most comprehensive and difficult tests to pass. The NHOLC has put together an intense 4 1/2-hour class, complete with mock tests, that will give you the knowledge you need to pass this exam and receive your Commercial Boater’s license.

- All-Inclusive Canoeing: The New Hampshire Outdoor Learning Center’s comprehensive, hands-on program will give you the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate canoes on the waters of New England.
