Located at Teesside in north east England, Teesside Rigging & Lifting (TRL) have over 27 years’ experience in all aspects of rigging, lifting and erection services installing all types of loads within the construction and oil and gas industries both onshore and offshore. TRL has a 7500sqft training centre and offers a range of rigging and lifting training courses that are accredited to ECITB, OPITO & LEEA.
Teesside Rigging & Lifting is a FPAL accredited and are BS OHSAS 18001 2007, ISO 14001: 2004 & ISO 9001: 2008 registered for the provision of training and consultancy for rigging and lifting and associated topics.
Teesside Rigging and Lifting work in both the Onshore and Offshore oil and gas industry. TRL has a full understanding of all lifting and rigging regulations including L.O.L.E.R., P.U.W.E.R and BS 7121. Teesside rigging and lifting supply experienced site safety supervisors who are qualified up to NEBOSH level, with hands on experience of rigging and scaffolding. They also supply experienced scaffolding supervisors and tag men who can oversees the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding as well as ensuring the scaffolding is properly and safely assembled.
Training Programs
OPITO Courses
- OPITO Rigger Competence (Stage 3 & 4): The aim and objectives of the OPITO Stage 3 competence assessment are to establish that the candidate has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfil the role of Rigger safely and effectively. The aim and objectives of the OPITO Stage 4 competence reassessment are to establish that the candidate has maintained the competence requirement for the Rigger role.
- OPITO Rigger Training (Stage 1 & 2): The aim and objectives of the OPITO Stage 1 Initial Training Program are to provide the delegate with knowledge of the rigging principles, general hazards and risks of rigging and lifting operations, an awareness of relevant legislation and regulation, and an opportunity to practice basic rigging operations following a lifting plan. Stage 2 takes place on-site where personnel will complete workforce requirements under supervision.
ECITB Courses
- ECITB Technical Competence Validation Test: This test is used to confirm the person has the job knowledge, skills and ability to safely perform the Appointed Person role and generate lift plans, risk assessments and tool box talks.
- ECITB Rigging Reskills: Once a delegates training has been successfully completed he will achieve an ECITB Certificate of training and the new Level 2 QCF LAPL and ACE card. After the 4 week programme, the delegate would then proceed to the workplace and complete his ECITB work based assignments (WBTA). Once this has been successfully completed he can then register for the QCF level 3 diploma in Moving Loads.
- ECITB Appointed Persons Moving Loads: This four day course delivers the necessary skills and knowledge to manage and plan the types of lifts or moving loads operations that frequently occur on engineering construction industry sites.
TRL Courses
- Management of Lifting Operations: This two-day course is carried out in accordance with the code of practice for the safe use of lifting equipment as published by LEE and includes lifting operation assessments leaving to certification on successful completion.
- Working at Height & Harness Equipment modules 1 & 2 (1 Day): This course is aimed to provide delegates with the knowledge and understanding of safety measures and fail prevention techniques when working at height and work based training scenarios.
- LOLER Planning & Risk Assessment (1 Day): This training is designed to ensure that personnel in a supervisory position and those responsible for carrying out LOLER planning and risk assessments have the skills to analyze the rigging & lifting operations of the workforce and are able to carry out assessments methodically and in compliance with the regulations.
- TRL Lifting Gear Examiner & Rigging Loft Management (1Day): The aim of this course is also to provide delegates with a thorough understanding of the HSE Rigging Loft Criteria, with emphasis on Regulations and Management.
- TRL Working at Height Modules 1 & 2 (1 Day): This course considers the effects of the regulations and focuses on implementing safe systems of work when working at height.
