EJLog, ESLog, EMLog & ETLog Certification Programs by European Logistics Association

european logistics association ela

Established in 1984 and headquartered in Brussels Belgium, the European Logistics Association (ELA) is a federation of 30 national organizations, covering almost every country in Central and Western Europe. ELA aims to provide an international forum for networking, the promotion and development of the logistics and supply chain profession. The European Certification Board for Logistics (ECBL) is an independent body consisting of member countries who voluntarily agree to share the Standards of Competence for Logistics and adhere to common levels of quality assurance procedures.

ECBL is the custodian of the ELA Standards and as such responsible for updating the ELA Standards as and when required. The ECBL Board is the sole authority for approving the award of a qualification, and no awards under this program will be allowed without such approval. The ELA Standards of Logistics Competence reflect the expectations of workplace performance for logisticians and they have been developed with and agreed by the industry.

The ELA Standards are mapped to the European Qualification Framework, an EU initiative for harmonizing life-long learning. An ELA certificate recognizes competences and validates logisticians’ experience at different levels. ELA offers individuals an independent, neutral assessment of skills and knowledge to identify strengths and gaps for future development. The ability of candidates to meet the required Standards will be assessed by the National Certification Boards.
