Established in 1993 and headquartered in Simi Valley California, Safety Unlimited, Inc. is a leading provider in workplace safety resources and specializes in all areas of safety training including OSHA maritime training for shipyard,  marine terminals and longshoring industry. The goal is not only to assist the customers with regulatory compliance training, but also to provide students with the training they can really learn from and the workplace safety resources they need.

Safety Unlimited is an American company with a global focus and has trained in places as far away as Japan. They offer a choice of online training or classroom training, or CD-ROM.

For classroom training, students can choose from open-enrollment classes or a customized annual refresher course. Even though the company is specialized in refresher training, they also offer many other safety training courses, including HAZWOPER, HAZMAT and 29CFR1910 courses.

All of the workplace health and safety instructors of Safety Unlimited, Inc. are certified to teach the subjects they present by California Specialized Training Institute-Office of Emergency Services (CSTI-OES), California State Fire Marshall's Office (CSFM),University of Southern California, U.S. National Fire Academy, and OSHA Outreach Program.

Training Programs

OSHA 10 Maritime Card

  • OSHA 10 Hour Maritime 7615 - Shipyard Employment (2 days): This training program is intended to provide entry-level safety and health-hazard information tailored to shipyard employees involved in ship repairing, shipbuilding, and shipbreaking. This entry level course focuses on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention; not OSHA standards. This OSHA 10 Hour Maritime 7615 - Shipyard Employment Course meets the requirements of NAVSEA Regulation 009-74. Sections 3.21 and 3.21.1.
  • OSHA 10 Hour Maritime 7617 - Marine Terminal Employees (2 days): This training program is intended to provide entry-level safety and health-hazard information tailored specifically to marine terminal employees. This entry level course focuses on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention; not OSHA standards.
  • OSHA 10 Hour Maritime 7618 - Longshoring Operations (2 days): This training program is intended to provide entry-level safety and health-hazard information tailored specifically to Longshoring employees. This entry level course focuses on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention; not OSHA standards.

OSHA 30 Maritime Card

  • OSHA 30 Hour Maritime 7635 - Shipyard Employment (4 days): This training program is intended to provide a higher knowledge level for managers, supervisor, and workers with safety responsibilities. This safety and health-hazard information is tailored to Shipyards and employees involved in ship repairing, shipbuilding, and shipbreaking. This training focuses on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention; not OSHA standards.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Maritime 7637 - Marine Terminal Employees (4 days): This training program is intended to provide a higher knowledge level for managers, supervisor, and workers with safety responsibilities. This safety and health-hazard information is tailored to Marine Terminals, and employees working in Marine Terminals. This training focuses on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention; not OSHA standards.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Maritime 7638 - Longshoring Operations (4 days): This training program is intended to provide a higher knowledge level for managers, supervisor, and workers with safety responsibilities. This safety and health-hazard information is tailored to Longshoring, and employees working in the Longshoring Industry. This training focuses on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention; not OSHA standards.

OSHA Maritime Card Info & Validity

  • After successfully completing the training, students will receive a downloadable certificate of completion and will be mailed a respective Department of Labor (DOL) course completion OSHA Maritime card.
  • Department of Labor (DOL) completion cards expire in five years from date of issue
