Established in 2013, University of Kyrenia (UOK) is a private university and one of the few universities in Cyprus specializing on maritime & aviation studies. UOK is located at Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus. With 4 Faculties, 15 Departments, 1 Graduate School, 1 Vocational School and 1 Academy, University of Kyrenia provides diverse educational opportunities for students in the region and worldwide.

The University’s maritime programs are implemented in full compliance with the regulations and standards laid down by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication of the Republic of Turkey. The university facilities include - Hydraulics Pneumatic Laboratory, ARPA-Radar Simulator, GMDSS Simulator, Engine Simulator, Tanker Simulator, Lifeboat Training Platform, and Research and Training Ship M/Y TEAL.

University of Kyrenia accreditations include - Council of Higher Education of Republic of Turkey (YÖK), Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK), Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Republic of Turkey, General Directorate of Maritime and Inland Waters Regulations.
