U.S. Coast Guard Approved Captains License Training Courses, AB Program, Endorsements, and Other Courses for Professional Maritime Industry
Located at Cody WY, Zenith Maritime is one of the largest USCG approved training group of independent instructors in the United States with approved training sites nationwide. Zenith Maritime offers OUPV through 200 Ton Masters Courses, endorsements and FCC Radio to individuals wishing to become professionally licensed mariners or upgrading their current grade in the Merchant Marine.
The nationwide network of instructors are all professional mariners with actual experience on the water and the teaching sites are all approved by the United States Coast Guard and can be found conveniently located throughout the United States.
The mission of Zenith Maritime is to provide consistency and excellence in training individuals and professional mariners to the highest standards required by the United States Coast Guard for successful licensure, upgrades and endorsements for the professional maritime industry.

Training Programs
AB Training Programs
- AB Unlimited (56 hours): This is a classroom based course satisfying the written examination for the Deck and Navigation General / Deck Safety and Deck General / Rules of the Road examination modules for any Able Seaman endorsement and the practical (knot tying) examination requirements for any Able Seaman endorsement .
USCG License Programs
- Upgrade To Master 200 GRT (Inland and Near Coastal Routes) (32 hours): This is a license training course for mariners wishing to obtain a Master 200 near coastal license.
- Master 100 GRT (Inland and Near Coastal Routes) (80 hours): This is a license training course for those mariners wishing to obtain either a Master 100 or OUPV near coastal license.
- OUPV to Master 100 GRT (Inland - Near Coastal) (24 hours): USCG approved license training course for OUPV who wish to upgrade to Master 100 tons.
- OUPV (6-Pack ~ Inland and Near Coastal Routes) (56 hours): For those mariners wanting to obtain an Operator of Un-Inspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV).
- Master 100 or OUPV License Renewal (8 hours): A Master and or OUPV license renewal course for those currently Coast Guard licensed mariners lacking the required sea time since their license’s last issuance for automatic renewal but still within the USCG allowed one year grace period after the date of expiration.
USCG Endorsement Programs
- Commercial Assistance Towing Endorsement (4 hours): License endorsement course for currently Coast Guard licensed Masters wishing to engage in commercial Assistance Towing.
- Auxiliary Sail Vessel Endorsement (4 hours): Endorsement course for currently Coast Guard licensed mariners holding a Masters level rating wishing to operate inspected sail vessels which carrying more than 6 passengers.
Other USCG & FCC Programs
- Launch Operator (24 hours): This approved course meets the requirement for mariners wishing to obtain a USCG Launch Operator’s license for yacht clubs and marinas.
- Train The Trainer (40 hours): This is a prerequisite to becoming an approved instructor to deliver courses for various approved USCG courses as an instructor.
- FCC Marine Radio Operators (MROP) Preparation Class and Examination for Original License: This is a MROP license training class plus in-class FCC Element 1 examination for all mariners.
