The Hong Kong Baptist College, founded in 1956, was renamed Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) in November 1994. The University is a fully government-funded institution. HKBU is a research-led liberal arts university and places strong emphasis on the importance of impact, collaboration, inter-disciplinarity and innovation. The HKBU School of Continuing Education (SCE) is one of the faculties of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offers full-time and part-time programs through its College of International Education,  Some of these programs lead to SCE Certificates and Diplomas and thers are named Professional Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Professional Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas.

These programs are all specially designed to provide working adults with an educational opportunity for lifelong enhancement of their professional knowledge and skills. All courses that make up various certificate and diploma programs, as described in the ensuing sections, are part-time short courses available mainly in the evenings.

Academic & Training Programs

Part Time Programs

  • Advanced Diploma in Business (Purchasing and Supply) (24 months, part time): The program aims at providing students with signified skills and knowledge of a greater complexity in the business. It offers an integrated understanding of Hong Kong business environment, synthesizing business knowledge while cultivating specialized competence in a business function to develop students as business professionals.
  • Professional Certificate in Purchasing and Supply (12 months, part time): The program primarily aims at providing students with a broad-based Professional Certificate level education to prepare them for employment or further studies in the purchasing and supply profession. Through the professional conduct of the program graduates, the economy of Hong Kong will be benefited by stimulating the adoption of international best practice in purchasing and supply management.
  • Professional Recognition: Upon successful completion of these programs, students are fully exempted from the educational requirements for the Associate Membership of the Institute of Purchasing & Supply of Hong Kong (IPSHK)..
  • Admission Requirements: Level 2 in five HKDSE subjects including English and Chinese (and up to two APL subjects) or equivalent; OR Successful completion of Diploma Yi Jin; OR Holder of a relevant School of Continuing Education (SCE) Diploma or Certificate or other equivalent non-SCE qualifications; OR Aged 21 or above, preferably with three years’ relevant work experience.
