Internships and Trainee Programs
- Internships and Final Thesis: You can advance your career with Wärtsilä before you graduate by participating in the internship program or completing your thesis. Students in technical, business and legal study fields are offered internships and final thesis at Wärtsilä.
- Trainee Programs: Wärtsilä offers both local and global trainee programs for students. The program includes possible summer jobs, practical trainings and internships.
Summer Programs
- Manufacturing and Assembly: The tasks are in engine laboratories, test run, manufacturing, assembly and machining lines.
- Engineering and R&D: The positions have versatile technical tasks for example in Project Management, Research & Development, Technical Documentation, Engineering, Design and Automation & Testing.
- Business Administration and HR: The positions are general business related, commercial tasks within for example Administration, Business Development or Human Resources.
- Financial Services: The positions are mainly in Wärtsilä Shared Service functions, such as Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Master Data and Travel Expenses. But other possibilities include position for example in Finance & Control, Trade Finance, Invoicing, Export documentation etc.
- Marketing and Communication: The positions are either in the local corporate communication team or in global business driven teams within Marine Business or Energy Business. The tasks are all related to content creation, documentation and stakeholder communication.
- Sales, Purchasing and Supply Chain: The positions have versatile tasks related to sales and purchasing processes with stakeholder cooperation, material management and sourcing. Other available opportunities are for example in Supply Chain Management operations.
- Information Management: The available positions are mostly in the IM organisation or in Cyber Security. The trainee tasks can be for example in Robotics Process Automation, Programming and Coding, Data Mining and Analytics or in Vulnerability Management.
- Legal: The trainee positions are either in Legal and Contract Management within the Marine Business, in Legal Affairs within the Energy Business or in other departments where support in legal related tasks is required with for example contracts.
