Transport Canada Approved Marine Medical Care (MMC) Course & Other Paramedic Training Programs and Short Courses in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada

Established in 2012 and located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Medavie HealthEd is a provider of accredited Paramedicine training programs in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It is responsible to deliver a broad range of high quality and professional health education programs. Over the years hundreds of students have successfully graduated from the paramedic training programs.

This includes over two dozen Department of National Defence (DND) sponsored civilian students. Additionally, Medavie HealthEd has become the preferred provider of training for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), Primary Care Military Delivery Model and Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) programs delivered in these provinces are aligned with the National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) of the Paramedic Association of Canada and are accredited. This is the highest level of accreditation that is awarded. In addition, the programs have been approved by the respective provincial authorities in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Marine Short Courses

• Marine Medical Care (MMC) Course (8 days): The Marine Medical Care course has a duration of 50 hours and is provided to those seafarers who are designated to provide medical care on board vessels at sea. In order to register for this course, trainees must have completed the 31-hour training course in Marine Advanced First Aid during the previous three years.
