Transportation & Supply Chain Management Education and Boater Safety Program in Cecil County, MD
Established in 1968, Cecil College is a comprehensive community college based in North East with other campuses and centers in Elkton Station and Port Deposit, MD. The college is a member of Maryland Association of Community Colleges. Cecil College provides career, transfer, and continuing education coursework and programs that anticipate and meet the dynamic intellectual, cultural and economic development challenges of Cecil County and the surrounding region.
The college meets postsecondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,700 credit students and 6,500 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes.
Cecil College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and authorized by the Maryland Higher Education Commission to grant the associate degree and certificates.
Academic Programs
Logistics and Transportation Programs
- AAS Degree in Supply Chain Management: The Supply Chain Management Program is designed for students interested in working for a federal, state, or local government agency. This program is customized to meet the critical workforce needs of these agencies. Cecil College has an articulation agreement with the University of Delaware and students satisfactorily completing the AAS Supply Chain Management Option degree are guaranteed admission to the University of Delaware’s Supply Chain Management program.
- AAS Degree in Transportation Management: This program is specifically designed for those individuals who are working or who wish to pursue a career in transportation and management of transportation systems. Careers would include, but are not limited to transportation manager, route planner, physical distribution manager, distribution planning analyst, and transportation marketer and operations manager. Transfer to a four year college is also available to eligible students.
- Supply Chain Management (Certificate): This certificate will teach an individual the basics of purchasing and materials management required to support a modern lean manufacturing facility and/or manage the flow of materials through the supply chain. Careers include, but are not limited to, inventory control manager, distribution center manager, warehousing/operations manager, customer service manager, buyer, and planner.
Boater Safety Certification
- Recreation/Boater Safety: If you are boating the area you will want to start with our approved Boater Safety Course. All persons born after July 1, 1972, are required to have this certification prior to operating a numbered vessel in MD waters. At the end of class you will take the official exam to receive your lifetime certification card.
