The University of Ballarat (UB) was Australia's only regional multi-sector university located in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. The university was the third oldest site of higher learning in Australia, and offer secondary schooling, TAFE, higher education, and research opportunities. It was formed by the passage of an Act of the Victorian Parliament in 1994 and later merged with the Ballarat School of Mines and Industries and Wimmera Institute of TAFE in 1998 to create the University of Ballarat as it known today.
UB hads six campuses; the Mt Helen, SMB and Camp Street campuses in Ballarat, and the Horsham, Stawell and Ararat campuses. The university also worked with a range of partner institutes across Australia and the world. UB had around 25,000 international and domestic students. UB offered the best of both worlds; combining a strong tradition of 137 years of tertiary education with the freedom and dynamism that comes with being a multi-sector University with close links to local industry and technology.
University of Balllarat is now Federation University after an act of parliament in 2010.

Old Logistics Programs or Domestic Students
- Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage) – Traineeship: This qualification is part of the Transport and Logistics Training Package. It is for people who want to learn how to lead a team, apply quality systems, conduct induction processes, and deliver and review training. You will also learn how to develop and conduct assessment, complete Import/Export documentation, coordinate stock-takes, manage a range of inventory and carry out emergency and customer service procedures.
- Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Logistics) – Traineeship: This qualification is part of the Transport and Logistics Training Package. It is for people who want to learn how to lead a team, apply quality systems, conduct induction processes, and deliver and review training. You will also learn how to develop and conduct assessment, complete Import/export documentation, coordinate stock-takes, manage a range of inventory, and carry out emergency and customer service procedures.
- Certificate III in Transport and Logistics (Logistics Operations) – Traineeship: The Certificate in Transport and Logistics (Logistics Operations) is a workplace-based training program that will provide trainees with skills and knowledge to become competent in many areas of logistics within this Industry. It is for trainees who want to learn about administration functions in the transport and distribution industry. You will learn how to coordinate goods for distribution to customers, how to use inventory systems to conduct stock counts and apply product knowledge to organize incomings and dispatches. Units within this certificate can be packaged together to meet the specific supervisory, leadership and advanced technical needs of occupations while also providing options for multi-skilling.
- Certificate III in Transport & Logistics (Warehousing and Storage) – Traineeship: The Certificate in Transport and Distribution (Warehousing and Storage) is a workplace-based training program that will provide trainees with skills and knowledge needed to become competent in many areas of warehousing and storage. On completion of a Certificate the participant will receive a qualification that is recognized Australia-wide. Some of the advantages are an improved knowledge of the industry worked in and the value of an employee in the Transport and Distribution (Warehousing and Storage) will be increased. Certificate III in Transport & Distribution (Warehousing and Storage) has been designed to teach you how to coordinate goods for distribution to customers, use inventory systems to conduct stock counts, and apply product knowledge to organize the receivables and dispatches.
