Logistics Management Education at Riverside Community College District (RCCD)
Established in 1991 and located in Norco, California, Norco College is part of the Riverside Community College District (RCCD) which is the seventh oldest community college district in California, and the fifth largest. RCCD is a three-college higher education system serving 1.4 million people living in Riverside County and student enrollment exceeded 50,000 in Fall 2010. RCCD colleges are located in the cities of Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Norco-three of the fastest growing areas in the county.
RCCD students transfer to universities throughout California, including UCLA, Berkeley, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona, USC, Loma Linda University and others.
The Logistics Management Program at regionally accredited Norco College offers both Certificates and Associate of Science Degrees. The College is approved by the California Community College Chancellor's Office, and perhaps the first community college based Logistics Management Program in the Nation. All of the courses are offered for standard California Community College fees, an unbeatable value.
The programs are supported by the Distribution Management Association of Southern California (DMA), which provided endowed Logistics Management Scholarship funds and free student texts for the Principles of Logistics course. The College is approved by the California Community College Chancellor's Office, and perhaps the first community college based Logistics Management Program in the Nation.

AS Degree Programs
- Associate of Science Degree in Logistics Management (60 unites): This program prepares students for entry into or career growth within the logistics industry. The focus is on integrated logistics, a necessity for management of effective and efficient supply chains. Areas of study include management and leadership in warehousing, transportation, purchasing, supply chain strategies, global logistics, service contracting and freight claims. The goal is to develop logistics industry leaders, and to prepare students for further professional study and career growth. The focus is collaborative and integrated business logistics management, necessities for cost effective high quality supply chains.
- AS Degree in Business Administration with Logistics Management Concentration (16 months): An AS Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Logistics Management will be awarded upon completion of the required courses (30 units) plus the General Education requirements. The goal is to develop logistics industry leaders, and to prepare students for further professional study and career growth. The focus is collaborative and integrated business logistics management, necessities for cost effective high quality supply chains.

Norco-RCCD Features
Riverside City College, founded in 1916, is located in Southern California, an hour's drive east of Los Angeles. RCC opened two additional campuses in 1991 in nearby Norco and Moreno Valley. Riverside is a traditional Southern California community. Museums, a symphony orchestra, and theater companies add to the cultural life of the region. More than twenty-five colleges and universities, including University of California, California State University, and Loma Linda University are located within 30 miles of Riverside.
- Campus: The 141-acre campus is situated is Norco, California which enjoys all Southern California's attractions. Newport and Laguna Beach, the San Bernardino Mountains, the Palm Springs desert resort region, and Disneyland are also within an hour's drive. Weather is mild, with a Mediterranean climate.

- Career & Transfer Center: The Career & Transfer Center is dedicated to assisting students with resources to enhance their academic success, ultimately leading to prosperous and satisfying career options. One of the primary goals of the Career & Transfer Center is to coordinate college transfer efforts to provide students with career and transfer services and activities that support student success.
- Honors Program: The Riverside Community College District offers an honors program at the Riverside City, Moreno Valley and Norco colleges. The Honors Program makes it possible for students to stretch themselves intellectually, actively work with fellow students and faculty in an environment that encourages them to improve their critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills to a university level, and to help them to cultivate an awareness and understanding of the diverse points of view necessary for a rich and productive intellectual environment.
- Job Placement: Job Placement is an employment service supported district wide to assist students with their job search efforts. Some of the services offered are: Job referrals for Part-time and Full-time Employment, Resume Development, Interviewing Techniques, Mock Interviews, Job Counseling, Labor Market Information, Resource Materials, Job Search Workshops, Classroom Presentations, On-line Job Search and Annual Career/Fairs and Recruitment.
- Homestay & Temporary Housing: The homestay is arranged through a non profit exchange program called Worldwide International Student Exchange (WISE), which charges a fee to match you with a compatible, pre-screened host family. Your living arrangements would depend on your personal preferences as well as those of the host family. The host family can provide meals, or you may choose a no-meal option. You would have a private bedroom and share a bathroom with members of the family.
