Located at Mosta Malta, 4 am Training provides maritime training and consultancy services to professional mariners and shipping and related companies worldwide. 4 am Training also provides training for the renewal and updating of certification as required by maritime legislation.
4am Consultancy personnel have a working knowledge of the International Ship and Port Facility Security code (ISPS ) and its requirements and 4am is a Recognized Security Organization (RSO) under the Designated Authority for Malta.
4am Training arranges the training of personnel for Maritime positions including Superyachts and also provides the renewal and updated certification as required by maritime legislation. They also offer bespoke packages onboard your vessel.
Training Programs
Ship Handling Courses
- General Ship Handling: Various General Ship Handling courses may be customized to anyone’s requirements, depending on own experience and choices of vessels to be handled on the Simulator.
- Ultra Large Container Ship Handling: The ultra large container ship handling training course provides simulator training on the CMA CGM 400 meter container ship capable of carrying more than 16,700 TEUs.
- Ship to Ship Transfer Training: This Ship to Ship Transfer Training deals with Ship to Ship transfers of petroleum cargoes at sea.
- Podded Propulsion Training: The Podded Propulsion training course covers all technical aspects of a podded system, from a tractor tug fitted with azimuth thrusters to a passenger ship fitted with Azi Pods.
- Single Point Mooring Training: The Single Point Mooring Training course consists of both theoretical and simulator practice where a candidate is trained on the safe approach of Single Point Mooring buoys.
STCW Tanker Courses
- Basic Training Oil and Chemical Tanker: This Basic Training Oil and Chemical Tanker course is aimed at inexperienced persons embarking on Oil or Chemical Tankers in compliance with the requirements of Section A-V/1 of the STCW code.
- Specialized Oil Tanker Training: The STCW Specialised Oil Tanker Training course provides specialist training in subjects appropriate to the duties of senior officers and any person with immediate responsibility for loading, discharging, care in transit or handling of bulk oil cargoes.
- STCW Basic Training Liquefied Gas Tanker: The Basic Training Liquefied Gas Tanker course is designed as per the STCW convention and is aimed for inexperienced persons embarking on Gas Tankers
Port Courses
- Port Facility Health & Safety: The Port Facility Health and Safety course is the only one of its kind and deals specifically with all types of basic H & S issues through to Cargo, ro-ros, liners, loading and unloading and storage within a port facility.
- Security Awareness Training for Port Facility Personnel: This course is relating to the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974, as amended, and Parts A & B of the ISPS Code, the IMDG code, the IMO/ILO code of practice on Security in Ports and guidance contained in IMO MSC. 1/Circ.1341.
- Security Awareness Training for Port Facility Personnel with Designated Security Duties: This course is relating to the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974, as amended, and Parts A & B of the ISPS Code, the IMDG code, the IMO/ILO code of practice on Security in Ports and guidance contained in IMO MSC. 1/Circ.1341.
