Established in 1998 and located throughout New Zealand, Vertical Horizonz New Zealand (VHNZ) has over 25 years of experience providing NZQA-accredited safety training. VHNZ offers a wide range of courses and programs designed to meet the specific needs of its clients, ensuring that participants receive high-quality training that aligns with industry standards and regulations.
With 14 training centers in New Zealand and a training center in Brendale & Brisbane QLD in Australia (Vertical Horizonz Australia), VHNZ is one of the largest training providers in the ANZ region. Also, with over 100 staff, over 120 trainers, and 110 plus courses, they have the capacity and capabilities to deliver nationwide training. All the trainers have extensive industry experience and joined the Vertical Horizonz team because of their standout performance within their chosen fields.
The company's primary objective is to promote a culture of safety, competence, and confidence in various fields, including height safety, Confined Space Entry, rescue operations, and other essential skills for critical industries such as maritime, construction, utilities, manufacturing, and more.
Training centers are located at Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Otago, Taranaki, Waikato, Wellington, and Whangarei.
Training Programs
Maritime Courses
- STCW Basic Training: The STCW Basic Training programme is a practical marine course covering safety onboard, survival and rescue. On the completion of this course, you will receive and internationally recognised certificate that will enable you to work on board vessels throughout the world including Super Yachts and Cruise Ships.
- STCW Refresher: STCW Basic Training is now mandatory to complete a refresher course every 5 years.
- STCW Crowd Management & Passenger Safety: Staff dealing with passengers in passenger spaces on board passenger ships, must receive additional safety training. The aim is for the student to be able to communicate effectively, apply emergency procedures, and use emergency equipment.
