Safety Training for Service Personnel Involved in Maintenance, Examination, Operational Testing, Overhaul, and Repair of Lifeboats and Rescue Boats
Established in 2022 and located in Istanbul, Delmar Academy specializes in providing safety training for service personnel involved in the maintenance, examination, operational testing, overhaul, and repair of lifeboats and rescue boats, as well as launching appliances and release gear. Certified to deliver courses in accordance with ISO 23678:2022. Delmar Academy also provides professional consultancy services to enhance the training experience.
The academy also conducts Competency Based Assessments to perform detailed analyses of each technician’s performance. Located in the popular ITU Breakwater Area in Turkey, Delmar Academy aims to become a hub for Lifesaving Appliance (LSA) training, along with Fire Fighting Equipment (FFE) and logistical support for decentralized marine platforms.
All training programs at Delmar Academy are led by accomplished academics from Istanbul Technical University and seasoned service engineers with over a decade of maritime industry experience. In addition to ISO 23678-compliant training, Delmar Academy offers courses focused on leadership, team management, stress management, and problem-solving. These additional offerings help participants elevate their skills and stand out among their peers in the industry.
Training Programs
Service Personnel Safety Training
- Service Personnel Initial: This program is designed to meet the initial training and assessment requirements for all prospective service technicians. The initial service technician training explains how competence shall be assessed and certified.
- Service Personnel Initial and Level 1 Training (Inexperienced): This programme is designed to meet the initial training and assessment requirements for all prospective service technicians. Candidates assessed as competent shall be issued a certificate that states the qualification and range of the procedures that the certificate covers. The interval between the initial training and the assessment and subsequent re-assessment/refresher training shall be three years.
- Service Personnel Level 2 In-Field Competence (Experienced): Initial service technician refresher training has been developed to update personnel with any changes to legislation or to the rules and regulations associated with manufacturer/ASP operations. The training and assessment activities shall ensure personnel’s’ underpinning knowledge is current and maintained at the required level to carry out their role in a safe effective manner. Successful candidates shall be awarded an initial service technician refresher certificate of a three-year validity
