Established in 1998, Inter Training has been involved in training and assessments for over 20 years serving the oil and gas industry. Inter Training is OPITO approved, CAA, RYA, and associated members of LEEA carrying out LEEA accredited training courses and assessments as well as OPITO training and assessments.
Inter Training is located in Aberdeen Scotland and the training centre at Cloverhill Road Bridge of Don (the A956). The training center provides amny accredited courses from OPITO at their facility in Aberdeen.

Training Programs
OPITO Courses
- Combined OPITO Rigger Stage 1 & OPITO Banksman Slinger Stage 1 (5 days): The aim and objectives of this course are to cover the OPITO Rigger Stage 1 Initial Training Program and the OPITO Banksman Slinger Stage 1. As some of the elements are the same, OPITO allow us to deliver this training over a 5 day period to provide both OPITO certificates. Please look at the individual course outlines for full course outlines.
- OPITO Banksman Slinger Stage 1 (3 days): The aims and objectives of Stage 1 Initial Training Programme are to provide personnel, who have little are no experience of the Banksman & Slinger role, with the basic knowledge of activities associated with the combined roles, and the safety and regulatory requirements of those activities.
- OPITO Banksman Slinger Stage 3 (1 day): The aim and objective of the OPITO Stage 3 competence assessment is to establish that the candidate has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfill the role of Banksman & Slinger safely and effectively.
- OPITO Banksman Slinger Stage 4 (1 day): The aim and objective of the OPITO Stage 4 competence reassessment is to establish that the candidate has maintained the competence requirement for the role of Banksman & Slinger.
- OPITO Rigger Stage 1 (3 days): The aim and objectives of the OPITO Rigger Stage 1 Initial Training Programme are to provide the delegate with knowledge of the rigging principles, general hazards and risks of rigging and lifting operations, an awareness of relevant legislation and regulation, and an opportunity to practice basic rigging operations following a lifting plan.
- OPITO Rigger Competence Stage 3 (2 days): The aim and objectives of the OPITO Stage 3 competence assessment are to establish that the candidate has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfill the role of Rigger safely and effectively.
- OPITO Rigger Competence Stage 4 (2 days): The aim and objectives of the OPITO Stage 4 competence reassessment are to establish that the candidate has maintained the competence requirement for the Rigger role.
- OPITO Drilling Rigger Competence Assessment (1 day): The Target group for Drilling rigger are personnel who have successfully completed the OPITO Stages 1 & 2 Rigger Training and Workplace Experience or possess sufficient and relevant work experience to be eligible for the OPITO Drilling rigger assessment.
- OPITO Drilling Rigger Competence Re-Assessment (1 day); The aim and objectives of the OPITO Drilling Rigger competence re-assessment are to establish that the candidate has maintained the competence requirement for the Drilling Rigger role.
LEEA Courses
- Lifting Operations Planning (3 days): The aim and objectives of the Lifting Operations Planning course are to provide the delegates with the knowledge and skills to risk assess and plan lifting operations.
Working At Height Courses
- Working at Height Unit 2 (1 day): This course is designed for delegates who are actively involved in Working at Heights. It outlines the legislation, equipment standards, equipment selection, marking, inspection, maintenance and record keeping.
- Working At Height Unit 3 (1 day): This course is designed for delegates who are actively involved in Working at Heights and responsible for the rescue and recovery of personnel working at height. It provides in greater detail the legislation regarding risk assessment, rescue provision and practical skills.
