OIPMAC

The Ontario Institute of PMAC, along with its National and Provincial partners, constitute the leading professional association in Canada for supply chain management (SCM) professionals. OIPMAC awards a professional designation in supply chain management under the authorization of provincial legislation, and is responsible for standards-setting, accreditation and the continuing professional development of its members.

The programs, taught by leading North American academics and professional trainers, are designed to enhance the professional competence and strategic perspective of practitioners at all levels of career progression, from entry to senior/executive levels of functional responsibility.

As a full service professional association, OIPMAC delivers the most extensive range of SCM and SCM-related leadership and skills development programs and educational offerings available, including the Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program (SSCMLP) leading to the Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (Certified SCMP) designation.

Education, Training & Certification

  • Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP): The accreditation program leading to the Certified SCMP designation is called the Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program. It is the most comprehensive in the field of supply chain management and is balanced to deliver advanced supply chain management knowledge and high-level business skills. The program is competency-based and participatory in nature with a focus on analysis, teamwork and decision-making. The highly integrated Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program consists of 8 Modules and 6 Interactive Workshops, followed by an In-Residence Week to reinforce learning. The concluding element of the program is a national Final Examination. A Practical Experience Requirement ensures Certified SCMP graduates have real-world expertise.
  • Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management: The Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management was developed based on the market need for skilled professionals at the intermediate level. This program covers all the necessary requirements, including finance, negotiation, contract law and strategic sourcing, that a procurement professional needs to build a successful career.
  • Supply Management Training: The courses and seminars within the supply management training provide you with the knowledge, skills and attributes employers are looking for when trying to gain a competitive edge and increase productivity. These individual courses and seminars offer unique value propositions, differentiating them from courses offered by colleges, universities and other supply chain associations. With the technical courses you will learn the fundamentals of procurement, transportation, logistics and operations. Through the certificate seminars you will gain the soft skills and business management knowledge necessary for productivity and efficiency on a day-to-day basis.
  • Accelerated Business Management Program (ABMP): In the ABMP, candidates learn to prepare case study reports and presentations through a directed case study approach. This approach strengthens candidates’ understanding of the required business knowledge areas and develops analytical skills through the use of business cases. The ABMP is offered as a combination of web-based lectures and online learning components. The program provides entry into the Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program (Certified SCMP designation) - For applicants who have not successfully completed any of the prerequisites, and credit for all three Business Management Knowledge components in the Supply Management Training program.
  • Seminars and Webinars: OIPMAC offers a wide variety of supply chain management seminars throughout the year. They are delivered in a workshop format using group discussions, short lectures, exercises, and case studies. These highly interactive seminars are also provided directly to organizations and delivered on-site. Meals are not provided in the seminars/webinars and interactive workshops. The categories consists of: SMT Seminars - Supply Management Training Program; Diploma Seminar - Diploma in Procurement and SCM; Interactive Workshops - Certified SCMP designation program; Webinars - Online interactive sessions; and Professional Development - General Interest.

  • Legal Recognition / Accreditation: The two provincial Acts relating to OIPMAC (The Ontario Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada Inc. Act 1987 and The Ontario Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada Inc. Act 2010) passed by the Ontario Legislature recognize OIPMAC as the province’s sole provider of the certification process that grants registered and eligible Members (accreditation professionals) the right to use the CSCMP designation.
