Founded in 1974, Aalborg University (AAU) is a Danish public university with campuses in Aalborg, Esbjerg, and Copenhagen. Aalborg University offers programs within the fields of natural sciences, social sciences, humanities health sciences, and technical sciences to name a few. All degree programs and research activities at Aalborg University are problem and project-based and have an interdisciplinary focus.

Aalborg University is famous for its problem based learning where you work in a team on a large written assignment often collaborating with an industrial partner. This study method is also called “The Aalborg Model for Problem Based Learning”. The method is highly recognised internationally, and the university is host to a successful UNESCO chair in Problem Based Learning in Engineering Education and a Centre for PBL and Sustainability approved by UNESCO.

With over 20,000 students, Aalborg University (AAU) also has five doctoral schools which are specialized within the disciplines offered by the five faculties. Aalborg University appears on the great majority of ranking lists, and is among the top two percent of the world’s 17,000 universities. According to US News World Ranking, Aalborg University ranks as no. 8 in the world within the field of engineering and according to QS, Aalborg University is no. 374 in the overall world university ranking, and no. 42 in the top 50 of universities established within the past 50 years.

Academic Programs

Master Program

  • MSc in Engineering (Operations and Supply Chain Management) (2 years, English): The program teaches you about development and operation of global production and logistics systems, project management, information technology, economy, human resource development, and organization. In your semester projects, you and your project group will work with relevant issues within the programs field of study, that challenge you to use all of your collected knowledge to come up with possible solutions.
  • This is a full-time study program, which is characterized by problem based project work in groups. You will be working closely with other students most of the time, and you are required to be present at the university on a daily basis and spend a vast majority of your day there. During the third semester, you have different options to earn the required 30 ECTS through and internship or study abroad program.
  • Graduates of this program work in a wide range of well-known companies such as LEGO, B&O, Siemens, A.P. Moller, Vestas, IBM and Microsoft. Your future job title could be project manager, production manager, consultant, etc.
  • Admission Requirements: Admission to the Master’s program in Operations and Supply Chain Management requires a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Global Business Engineering (GBE) or the like. (Production Management, Operations Management, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management).
