It focuses on how to improve offshore safety and optimize operations, performance and energy consumption.

FORCE Technology has more than 25 years of experience in training and education. The maritime training is aimed at both experienced and newly graduated officers. The courses combine theoretical and practical training in the 360 degree fied-of-view simulators. The Simulator exercises are designed to transform the newly acquired theoretical knowledge into practical skills. Advanced modeling techniques are also used realistic environment. All courses are approved by Danish Maritime Authority and/or DNV.

Advanced modeling techniques are also used realistic environment. The models are based on n eclectic approach where sea trials as well as data from physical model tests derived from the Force’s towing tank, wind tunnel test facilities and from numerical calculations (CFD) is applied to ensure tha the reactions of the simulated vessels replicate reality.

Training Programs

Maritime Training Programs

  • Accident Investigation Course: The aim of the course is to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills to complete accident investigations in a competent and timely manner.
  • Azimuth Propulsion Ship Handling: The course improves the participants' ability to utilize the azimuthing systems efficiently and safely.
  • Bridge Resource Management: Bridge Resource Management is designed for officers and carried out in a full-mission simulator environment.
  • Emergency Response Management: In order to improve handling of emergency situations, participants will be trained in maneuvering ships in all conditions, ensuring the right establishment of watch keeping procedures and being aware of machinery malfunctions.
  • Emergency Towing Training: The course enhances safe operation of Emergency Towing Vessels (ETVs) by improving the bridge team’s ability to carry out emergency towing safely and efficiently.
  • FPSO Tandem Mooring: The course aims at providing captains, officers and mooring masters with further knowledge of tandem mooring and ship handling in order to ensure safety of life at sea, property and protection of the marine environment.
  • Jack-up: The objective of the course is to enhance safety by applying the proper procedures for conducting safe jacking operations. Especially the challenges in understanding soil data and how to mitigate the risks involved will be addressed. Paired with the state-of-the-art simulator, theory will be transformed into operational knowledge.
  • Marine Operations Course: This two-day course is offered in close collaboration between DHI and FORCE Technology. The course introduces you to aspects and implications of scour and seabed instability when positioning and jacking at a site. An understanding of the seabed, the ambient environment as well as the interaction with the rig provides valuable knowledge enabling you to make better and safe decisions.
  • Megaship Handling: The course consists of a combination of theoretical lessons and practical simulator training. The core value of the course is transforming theoretical hydrodynamic knowledge into maneuvering skills - the art of ship handling.
  • Pilot Training: Marine pilots will enhance their knowledge of handling different types of vessels safely and efficiently under the influence of different environmental conditions.
  • Polar Code Course: Ships operating in the Arctic and Antarctic environments are exposed to a number of unique risks. Poor weather conditions and the relative lack of good charts, communication systems and other Navigational aids pose challenges for seafarers.
  • Ship Handling: During the course, participants will have the possibility of testing and improving maneuvering strategies.
  • Ship to Ship Training: Ship to Ship operations for Captains and Officers as well as Pilots and Mooring Masters. Advanced ship maneuvering techniques during STS operations.
  • Train-the-Trainers: The course offers training of new simulator instructors and/or operators with focus on pedagogical skills, communicative tools and further knowledge of the specific courses.
  • Training in LNG Ship to Ship Operations: The training will improve the ability to approach and go alongside in an STS operation with or without tug assistance.
  • Tug Handling Training for Marine Pilots - Customized: The Marine Pilots will get an improved understanding of the possibilities and limitations of tug operations. They will also learn to assure a good communication between pilots and tug masters during maneuvering exercises.
  • Tug Handling Course, Level 1: The participants learn best practice procedures for conducting tug operations and thereby improving safety. The training is adjusted according to the tug type, the participants’ level of experience and any other specific requirements of the client.
  • Tug Handling Course, Level 2: The training is adjusted according to the tug type, the participants’ level of experience and any other specific requirements of the client.
  • Tug Handling Training, Level 3 - Customized: The participants learn best practice procedures for conducting tug operations and thereby improving safety. The training program is designed for tug captains and officers. The training is adjusted according to the tug type, the participants’ level of experience and any other specific requirements of the client.
  • VTS & Pilot Resource Management Training: Designed for marine pilots and VTS operators utilizing two full mission ship simulators and two VTS simulators all interacting during the exercises.
