Highbury College is a general further education college with over 45 years teaching and learning experience. The College is a member of the 157 Group and has achieved Training Quality Standard (TQS) accreditation Part A (whole College) with excellence in Building Services Engineering.
Highbury provides a vast range of vocational and academic programs in and around Portsmouth, from entry level training courses to university-level qualifications, specialized services for business and learning in the community. Highbury currently occupies five centers. These are: Highbury Campus, Highbury City of Portsmouth Center, Highbury Northarbour Center, Highbury Arundel Center and Highbury Apex Center.
The College actively promotes lifelong learning and delivers a wide range of adult courses at more than 50 community venues in and around Portsmouth, as well as at Highbury College Centers. Students at Highbury College benefit from first-class facilities and the support they need to succeed. The college was judged to be outstanding in its approach to educational and social inclusion in the College’s most recent Ofsted report in 2007.
Engineering (Marine) Programs
- Level 3 Marine Engineering: During the course, you will have the opportunity to build and test your own boat, listen to expert guest speakers, go on industry visits and have the chance to enter competitions, including the IET student of the year award and WorldSkills. You will also complete a 45-day industry placement within a professional environment.
- Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Marine Engineering: Boat building, joinery & carpentry, rigging, and GRP/composites engineering
