Merchant Navy & Yacht, Marine Engineering, Ship Handling, Tanker, Simulation & Offshore Training Programs and Courses at Warsash Maritime

solent university

Warsash Maritime School is a maritime & offshore training school and is part of Solent University Southampton. For over 70 years the academy has provided first class training, consultancy and research to the international shipping and offshore oil industries. Warsash pioneered the use of bridge and engine room simulators for higher level training, and the Liquid Cargo Operations Simulator, which is the most advanced of its kind and was developed in house.

Warsash Maritime School provides internationally recognized training and certification courses approved by the MCA, MNTB, OPITO, SIGTTO, SQA, and other awarding bodies. The school also provides consultancy and research to the international shipping and off-shore oil industries.

The courses on offer cover a wide range of maritime education and training for deck and engineer officers from cadet level to Master (Captain) and Chief Engineer, including degree pathways, to senior officer certificates of competency, together with the associated safety training.

It is one of the United Kingdom's colleges responsible for the training of the British Merchant Shipping industry. The manned model ship handling training facility at the academy is the only one in the United Kingdom, and one of very few in the world.

Warsash Maritime School also conducts STCW safety training courses and is delivered by technical specialists with many years' experience in their field. With its training partners, they deliver programs such as interior hospitality and medical training, as well as RYA courses.
