Supply Chain and Purchasing Management Education in Italy & France

MIP was born out of the partnership between the Politecnico di Milano, the first technology University in Italy, and some of the most important Italian and international multinationals. Founded in 2003, the School of Management covers numerous areas of research, education and high level consultancy in the fields of economics, management and industrial engineering, which Politecnico di Milano undertakes through its own structures and those of the consortium to which it belongs.

The School of Management is composed of the DIG - Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering and the Business School, MIP. Overall, there are over 200 professors, lecturers, researchers, tutors and staff members and every year over 600 new students enroll in the undergraduate program. In 2009, the School was included for the first time in the Financial Times’ ratings of top European Business Schools and in 2010 was confirmed as the only Italian business school listed in the rankings for three Master degrees: Executive MBA, Full time MBA and Master of Science in Management Engineering. Furthermore, the School of Management climbed 11 positions in the 2010 rankings, reaching 45th place.

School of Management of Politecnico di Milano is accredited by the EQUIS, the European Quality Improvement System; and ASFOR, is the Italian Association for Management Education Development.

Academic Programs

Masters Program


  • MSCPM - International Master in Supply Chain and Procurement Management (Full-time, English, 1 year): This Master in Supply Chain Management has been created to give all the necessary skills to young graduates looking for a successful international career in supply chain and procurement management. It provides analytical and quantitative skills in the domain of Supply Chain and Procurement Management. The program offers a highly specialized qualification with candidates receiving the Master Degree from Politecnico di Milano. The program is professionally accredited by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). Admission requirements include a 3 year Bachelor degree in management, business, engineering or scientific studies (minimum 180 ECTS).
  • GEMOS - Global Executive Master in Operations and Supply Chain (Part-time, English, 1 year): The program is taught on campus at two European schools, MIP Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy, and EADA Business School in Barcelona, Spain Plus International Week in China at Beijing Jiaotong University. The course aims to instruct working executives on the key elements and theories of modern operations and supply chain management. Additionally, the program involves extensive collaboration with partner companies and firms, including project work, consultation opportunities and networking events, where students work on relevant industry-related projects.  The course is ideally suited for managerial executives with 5 years experience in a relevant position, looking to expand and diversify their knowledge and expertise in the field of supply chain and purchasing management.
