OPITO, IMCA and RINA Approved Offshore Safety and Health Training Programs in Ravenna, Italy
Founded in 2001 and located in Ravenna Italy, CFO (Centro Formazione Offshore) is a specialized Offshore Training Centre and trains companies and personnel working in the marine and port industries both offshore and in oil, gas and mining companies. It was founded by a group of skilled marine and diving professionals with close links to Ravenna’s thriving marine, port and offshore industry which also includes the platforms on the Adriatic coast nearby.
As an Offshore Training Centre the skilled instructors have amassed many years of experience training qualified offshore personnel to work on land and sea in marine and port activities onboard ships, sea vessels and rigs, underwater and at ports.
CFO is an industry recognized training centre accredited by OPITO, IMCA ( International Marine Contractors Association), RINA (Authorized RINA exam centre for NDT personnel, including Diving Applications).
Training facilities include - a fire fighting and training area complete with smoke room, an outdoor pool with TEMPSC lifeboat, and a Hyperbaric training Simulator approved for drills in confined spaces and underwater work.
Training Programs
Offshore Safety & OPITO Courses
- BOSIET OPITO - Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training including HUET and EBS (2 days): The course includes theoretical and practical training including Sea Survival techniques, First Aid, basic Firefighting and self-rescue, Helicopter safety and escape. The course is in Italian or in English, on request
- BOSIET CA-EBS OPITO - Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training including HUET with CA-EBS (3 days): The aim of the BOSIET (with CA-EBS) is to introduce delegates to the specific safety issues and regimes relevant to offshore installations, and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills for travelling to and from offshore installations by helicopter.
- FOET OPITO - Further Offshore Emergency Training (1 day): The course covers Helicopter safety and escape, practical Firefighting and Self Rescue, first aid response including CPR, Sea Survival and Rescue training. The course is in Italian or in English, on request.
- HUET OPITO - Helicopter Underwater Escape Training including EBS (1 day): The course trains the person to survive from the time the Helicopter touches down in water till he/she is rescued by the rescue team. The course is in Italian and, on request, in English.
- BASIC H2 S OPITO - Basic H2 S Training (4 hours): This training covers the characteristics of hydrogen sulphide gas and the potential physiological effects of exposure as well as the use of H2 S detection equipment and “escape breathing apparatus”.
- Helodunker, Advanced Sinking and Survival (2 days): The aim of this program is to provide delegates knowledge of emergency equipment on boarding of aircraft (helicopter etc.), knowledge of sea survival techniques, rescue swimming techniques, recovery castaway and skills required in the event of a helicopter ditching - with specific focus on escaping from a submersed helicopter.
- Basic Helo Dunker (4 hours): This course is designed to provide delegates with a basic knowledge on the sea survival techniques, rescue at sea and techniques in case of evacuation from helicopter ditching.
