Supply Chain Management Education in Venlo and Maastricht Campuses
Founded in 1976, Maastricht University (Universiteit Maastricht - UM) is a public, international university located in Maastricht, Netherlands. The university is the second youngest in the Netherlands. With 14,500 students and 3,500 staff, UM offers a wide choice of education programs for Bachelor, Master, PhD and post graduate (executive) students.
Most of the course, from first-year bachelor to last-year master courses, has a strong research component. This is reflected in the learning materials that are used, the literature that is discussed, and the assignments and case studies, which need to be completed. The international learning environment of students is composed of an overall student population (bachelor and masters) with more than 66 different nationalities. Of the total bachelor and master students more than 40% have a foreign origin or background. More than 50% of the bachelor programs and majority of the master and PhD programs are in English.
The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) is the youngest economics and business school in The Netherlands. It was founded in 1983. Since then, SBE has been the fastest growing economics and business school in The Netherlands. To date, the School comprises about 3,750 students and employs 182 full-time academic faculty staff, 54 PhD students and 83 administrative staff. The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics has been awarded three prestigious accreditations, resulting in the so-called Triple Crown accreditation - AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.
Masters Degree Programs
- MSc in Global Supply Chain Management and Change (1 year, full-time, Venlo): The Global Supply Chain Management and Change program has been developed to meet the growing demand for supply chain experts who understand the importance of innovation in business success. You will acquire the skills to maintain a big picture overview of every link in the supply chain, while having the leadership skills to drive change processes that will benefit a business’ bottom line. Internship is an integral part of the program. To qualify, the internship should last at least 8 weeks full-time (12 ECTS) but never more than 20 weeks full-time (30 ECTS). Furthermore, the internship may only take place after you have completed at least two courses in your master’s program.
- MSc in International Business with specialization in Supply Chain Management (1 year, full-time, Maastricht): The specialization is part of the master's program in International Business and is for students seeking a career managing supply chains for businesses and organizations. You will gain the theoretical, practical and managerial skills to implement supply chain improvements that satisfy consumer demand and keep companies competitive. The program also explores exciting concepts like the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 and the Maker Movement, which are challenging our ideas about lifestyle and consumption. Double Degree option is also available.
