Open Courses

  • Bridge Resource Management: The focus of this course is to provide the participants with the knowledge, skills and understanding of Leadership and Teamwork at the operational level on board a ship. The course enriches the standard Bridge Resource Management (BRM) approach with specific components building higher competences for the Navigational officers.
  • DP Familiarization Course: This course is very beneficial as operations involving DP can be optimized after participants widen their knowledge about the system. All key personnel such as fleet managers, Staff Engineers, Construction and Technical Superintendents as well as diving supervisors and drilling staff should be introduced to the DP world by taking a DP Familiarization course.
  • Fault Finding and How to Prevent Them: After this course participants have developed their problem-solving skills, are able to focus on the right problem and can develop a range of options to respond effectively. For an effective training outcome theory lessons will be alternated with practical exercises in a very advanced full mission engine room simulator.
  • IGF Code Course: Basic & Advanced training for ships subject to the IGF Code - The combined IGF Course will consist of theory sessions and simulator exercises on a Part Task dual fuel Engine Simulator. This combination of listening, watching, thinking, doing and reflecting will increase the learning outcome and efficiency.
  • LNG introduction for Shoreside Personnel: This LNG course for shoreside personnel provides an introduction and a better understanding of the operations and risk assessment that apply to LNG fueled ships.
  • Navigation Assessor Course: The Nautical Institute (The NI) Navigation Assessor Course provides guidance for participants who carry out navigational assessments under voyage conditions. After this course participants have gained knowledge and a good understanding of the differences between an assessment and an audit, how to prepare a systematic approach to the navigation assessment, how to conduct the assessment and How to prepare an effective report on the standard of navigation found during the assessment.
  • Onboard Competency Assessment Course: The Nautical Institute (NI) Onboard Competency Assessment course has been designed to provide industry guidance for course participants who engage in the assessment of seafarers. Encompassing the IMO Model Course 1.30, the course introduces the processes and procedures to organize, administer and conduct onboard assessment of seafarer behavioral competence, in accordance with the provisions of section A-1/6 of the STCW Code and TMSA 3 – Element 3.
  • Polar & Ice Navigation Course: This course provides training to masters, chief mates & officers in charge of a navigational watch and/or management level to operate ships in polar waters and to address those additional provisions as required by the Polar Code, in order to take into account, the climate conditions of polar waters and to meet appropriate standards of Maritime Safety and pollution prevention.
  • Ship To Ship Handling: In the 2 day Ship handling Conventional / Podded, you practice these maneuvers under various circumstances and you learn how to bring the ships safely together in a safe environment.
  • Train The Trainer Online: This Train the Trainer course is designed to facilitate the delivery of training onboard ship or shore side teams, either in a classroom or on the job. The course provides practical knowledge and understanding of proven didactical principles and how to apply them appropriately to achieve specific training outcome.
