Established in 1979, the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) is a leading professional body for commercial and business development professionals. ICM provides a wide range of professional qualifications in business, management and related vocational areas. The programs are designed to address and respond to the training needs as well as the personal development of learners, whether entering or continuing to work within the wide and varied commercial sector.

ICM strives to implement rigor in the award of credit, inclusive in assessment and examination, accuracy and efficiency in the certification of all our learners undertaking business, management and related vocational education programs.

ICM qualifications are structured in Levels. These Levels are designed to provide learners with structured and progressive development of skills and knowledge. In order to undertake any ICM examination it will be necessary for you to register with ICM as a Learner Member.

Ofqual regulates the ICM Level 2 Award in Psychology only which is currently in development for a 2021 launch. ICM also works with a range of public and private sector clients including universities, business schools, colleges, training providers and government agencies.

Maritime Management

  • Diploma in Maritime Management: The topics include - Business Of Shipping, Maritime Operations, International Trade & Transport - Maritime, and Maritime Economics. A Diploma in Maritime Management is awarded on completion of all topics.
  • Advanced Diploma in Maritime Management: The topics include - Maritime Law, Marine Insurance, Maritime Security & Safety Management, and Marketing Planning & Decision Making - Maritime. The Advanced Diploma in Maritime Management is awarded on completion of all the above topics PLUS the topics included in the Diploma in Maritime Management.
  • Graduate Diploma in Maritime Management: The topics include - Finance of International Trade, Shipbroking & Chartering Practices, Port Operations & Management, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management. The Graduate Diploma in Maritime Management is awarded on completion of all the above topics PLUS the topics in Diploma in Maritime Management & Advanced Diploma in Maritime Management.

Purchasing & Supply Management

  • Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management: The topics include - Negotiation, Supply Chain Management, Stores Management & Stock Control, Quantitative Methods For Managers, and Customer Service. The ICM Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management is awarded on completion of all the above topics.
  • Advanced Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management: The topics include - International Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Operations Chain Management, Purchasing Strategies, and Purchasing & Supply Law. The ICM Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management is awarded on completion of all the above topics PLUS all the topics from Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management.
