The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK - CILT(UK) - is the pre-eminent independent professional body for individuals associated with logistics, supply chains and all transport throughout their careers. It is a membership based organization with over 30,000 members in over 30 countries.

The qualifications offer professionals at every level and in every sector of the industry the opportunity to gain professional recognition of their knowledge and experience. Nationally recognized and accredited by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (OFQUAL), these qualifications are designed to raise standards and to demonstrate both professional and personal achievement. All the qualifications include membership of CILT or formerly Institute of Operations Management (IOM) which was converted to CILT qualifications after the CILT-IOM merger. CILT is also the channel partner for APICS and offers APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) qualifications.

CILT Qualifications

• CILT(UK) Level 1 Award in Logistics and Transport: Designed to offer an entry-level overview and a basic insight into the logistics and transport industry. It also introduces learners to different types of written communications, teaching them the skills to draw information from a variety of documents and equipping them for progression to other CILT(UK) qualifications.
• CILT(UK) Level 2 Award in Employee Rights and Responsibilities in the Logistics Industry: Designed to equip the learners with a solid knowledge of the areas they need to know and understand about the sector, business organization and the legal framework within which they operate.
• CILT(UK) Level 2 Certificate in Logistics and Transport: Offers a broad understanding of the principles, applications and concepts of logistics. It gives learners the opportunity to focus on an area of specialism or interest to gain introductory knowledge of the industry.
• CILT(UK) Level 2 Award in Customer Service for Professional Drivers in Road Transport: Designed to introduce drivers to customer service in the road transport industry. The qualification provides drivers with an overall view of the importance of what good customer service means to the customer, the general public, themselves, their colleagues and the transport business as a whole.
• CILT(UK) Level 2 Diploma in Warehousing and Storage: Designed for professionals working in the warehousing and storage industry. The qualification is suitable for warehouse operators, store assistants, team leaders and managerial positions in the transport or freight forwarding environment.
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Award in Inventory Management: Provides Learners with the knowledge and understanding in the relevant industry and the techniques involved in balancing trade-offs to deliver optimum supply chain performance.
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Award in Freight Transport Operations: Designed to provide Learners with knowledge and understanding of the structure and operation of all types of freight transport operations, including supply chain operation, in all the major modes of transport.
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Award in Green Logistics: Provides information to help develop better understanding of green or sustainable logistics. It provides the necessary skills and knowledge to enable learners to understand better many of the issues surrounding the subject of green or sustainable logistics.
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Award in Global Logistics: Provides knowledge and understanding of current trade patterns and the structure and operation of global and multi-national trade, business and supply chains. It includes economic, environmental, cultural, political, and ethical issues and moves on to address how global trade is regulated, constrained, controlled and monitored across all major modes of transport.
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Award in Warehousing: Provides learners with the knowledge and understanding of warehousing principles and deliver the skills required by an aspiring warehouse manager to operate effectively. The qualification covers all of the key areas and activities of warehousing operations.
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Certificate in Logistics and Transport: Is a free-standing qualification, designed to provide a sound foundation for a career within the transport and supply chain fields and to provide learners with a complete set of management skills.
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Certificate Of Professional Competence For Transport Managers (Road Haulage): This Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) is developed in accordance with the current EU Directive and is offered on behalf of the Department for Transport (DfT).
• CILT(UK) Level 3 Certificate in Green Logistics: Provides information to help develop better understanding of green or sustainable logistics.
