Their tankerman school is designed to meet the U.S. Coast Guard requirements for obtaining the Merchant Mariner Credential. Tankerman school is offered to prospective apprentices as well as to customers. Also, the Team Services Apprenticeship Program is designed to bring you up to a DL/FF credentialed Tankerman-PIC.
Training Programs
Tankerman Program
- Tankerman PIC Apprenticeship (6 months): Employee development starts with the Team Services Apprenticeship Program, which includes a customized 4–6-month training program for tankermen. This program culminates in the successful completion of the in-house Coast Guard Approved Dangerous Liquids School and Marine Firefighting School, and integrates the Safety Net process to ensure hands-on supervision for newly released tankermen. Apprentices will go through a one week orientation, introduction to industry and field acclimation, on-the-job training period followed by a USCG dangerous liquids and firefighting class.
- Tuition Assistance: Tuition loan assistance is available for apprentices hired by Team Services.
- Requirements: Applicants must possess - A valid driver's license, Transportation worker identification card (T.W.I.C), and Complete pre-employment background check and physical.
- Location: All apprentices will be required to visit multiple industrial worksites in their area during the training period, with the classroom instructional period being at the main office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
