Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Bremerton, Washington, SAFE Boats International (SAFE) designs and builds highly reliable and extremely durable vessels that help keep military, law enforcement and fire professionals safe as they carry out their duties, protect citizens and work to save lives.

SAFE Boats has extensive experience providing comprehensive training programs to both civilian and government customers, and from individuals to the unit level. The training program brings operators with unprecedented experience, lessons learned and proven operational employment concepts.

Since 2005, SAFE Boats has trained over 65 US agencies, 25 countries and completed more than 1,200 days of training. SAFE Boats understands that challenging maritime operations begin with highly skilled operators, support and management personnel.

The training program is comprised of veterans and reservists from the U.S. Marine Corps, Naval Special Warfare, U.S. Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, U.S. Army Watercraft Program and Special Operations Command, U.S. Coast Guard, law enforcement agencies, first responders and the Department of Energy.

Training Programs

Boat Operations Training

  • Finish Installation: Learn how to install, repair, and adjust windows, doors, hatches, and finish coatings. This course will focus on maintaining craft sub-systems in order to address crew comfort and aesthetics. This class does not cover collar finishing.
  • Rigging Troubleshooting: This course provides familiarization on Electrical rigging, wire runs, installed electrical equipment, and wire termination procedures. This course will give students hands-on experience with wiring vessels during different stages of production. By knowing how the vessel was built, students will understand how to service any wiring issues that may arise in the most efficient way.
  • Collar Installation and Repair: As the keystone feature on all SAFE boats, the collar system is an integral component for reliable and safe operation of the vessel. This course will instruct students on the proper method for collar inspection, maintenance, repair, removal and installation.
  • Electrical Theory and Troubleshooting: Basic electrical theory as it pertains to marine electrical systems will be covered in this course. Batteries, grounding, signals, amperage load requirements and basic circuitry are addressed as applicable to the customer’s particular needs.
  • Navigation System/Electronics Operation: Learn how to operate the electronics package installed on the vessel. This course focuses primarily on radar/chart plotting units, but also discusses VHF/UHF communication, GPS theory, course plotting, and depth sounder operation.
