Founded in 1990, EIM Maritime Training Center develops and deliver simulator-based training tailored to statutory - industry & clients specific requirements. The facilities include a full mission Bridge capable of simulating a total shipboard bridge operation situation, including the capability for advance maneuvering in restricted waterways; a desktop Simulator class to allow 12 students to be trained simultaneously in the same classroom; a combined instructor station; and a GMDSS simulator.

The training programs are supported by state-of-the-art simulators suitable for the selected objectives & training tasks, facilities and literature; practical hands-on experiential exercises to allow the effective assessment of the performance of the participants; and necessary classroom lectures and discussions with quality instructors.

These simulators will form a multi-purpose simulator facility which occupies 85 square meters in an area of 2 storey building. The Quality Management System is certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) as to be in conformance with the Management System ISO 9001:2000.

Training Programs

Simulator & Other Training

  • Bridge Resource (Team) Management (3 days): Teaches situational awareness, decision making, leadership, Crisis Management, communication, master/pilot relationships and voyage planning and provides the methodology of using effectively all available resources (both equipment and people) to conduct Navigational operations and run a vessel safely.  
  • Bridge Simulator and Bridge Teamwork (3 days): Practical in nature and is aimed at Masters and Mates seeking to enhance their skills in Effective Bridge Team and other resources Management procedures.        
  • Engine Room Resource Management (3 years): Teaches situational awareness, decision making, leadership, crisis management, communication and provides the methodology of using effectively all available resources (both equipment and people) to conduct engineering operations and run a vessel safely.
  • ECDIS (5 days): The operational use of Electronic Chart Display & Information Systems. Provides Simulator Based training for the officers who are in charge of a navigational watch on vessels equipped with ECDIS.
  • ISM Code - SMS Implementation - Safety Internal Auditor (2 days): Helps to promote the development of safeguards through the emphasis on human element capabilities and training. Learns what an ISM auditor will be looking for by following his/her activities from the audit preparation through to the closing meeting onboard a vessel.
  • RMIV (2 days): Practical shipboard Risk management and Incident investigation & analysis. Makes all crew members aware of the importance of reporting accidents and near accidents.The Safety Management System (SMS) is an effective tool for accident investigation. Learn how to us it! Learn all of the elements of the investigation process; identify root causes; make recommendations for corrective action
  • Safety Officer Training (2 days): Provides safety-training for the officers in excess of statutory requirements to cover the best practice guidance of element 9B of TMSA.
  • Oil Pollution Regulations and the Oil Record Book (2 days): Provides an overview of marine pollution prevention regulations and explains the main regulatory compliance document - The Oil Record Book. The seminar deals with the condition of the monitoring equipment and the correct entries in the Oil Record Book.
  • Oil Tanker Operator Simulator Training (5 days): Provides refresher and update simulator and laboratory based training on the application of the Cargo handling principles to ship operation in an effective operational environment.
  • Under Keel Clearance Applications (2 days): Provides underpinning knowledge on the factors determining the required Under Keel Clearance (UKC).
  • Ship Stability & Damage Control (2 days): Provides underpinning knowledge on the factors affecting trim and stability & the measures necessary to preserve trim and stability.
  • Plan a Voyage and Conduct Navigation (2 days): Route study and route planning in Bosfor. Conduct Coastal and Inland Waterway Phases of the planned voyage in the Navigation bridge simulator.
  • MLC ILO Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (2 days): Company’s values & aspirations on Seafarers’ employment and social rights and how the company intends to achieve the requirements for the 14 areas of seafarers’ working & living conditions.
  • Leading and Motivating Crew (2 days): Provides good leadership qualities at the (management) level where Officers can be assigned with major duties and responsibilities involving the manipulation of multinational personnel & decision making especially in critical and stressful situations.
  • LNG-LPG Operator Simulator Training (2010) (5 days): Provides refresher and update simulator and laboratory based training on the application of the Cargo handling principles to ship operation in an effective operational environment.
