TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute is a Registered Training Organization (RTO) which manages 24 colleges in nine locations in Western Sydney and more than 34,000 student enrolments each year. More than 500 courses are offered and a flexible approach to delivery incorporates recognition for prior learning, online and distance learning, workplace delivery and assessment. The Institute employs approximately 1,450 full-time and 2,500 part-time staff.
In meeting its mission TAFE Western services an area covering more than half of New South Wales, taking in the Central West, North Western and Far West regions, including some of the most isolated and remote communities in Australia. An advanced communication network unites the region with electronic file sharing, Internet communication and video conferencing. The Institute also has an international delivery arm and students from approximately 35 countries study with the Institute.
Following an independent evaluation TAFE Western was awarded Training Excellence Gold against the AQTF Excellence Criteria. The Institute offers Certificate to Advanced Diploma level courses for people looking for career-related skills, and short courses for people looking to advance their skills and careers. Additionally, many courses have credit transfer arrangements with universities as well.
Certificate I in Logistics (Orange - Online): This is an entry level qualification for the Transport and Logistics Industry. It involves the breadth, depth and complexity of knowledge and skills required to prepare a person to perform a defined range of activities, most of which may be routine and predictable. This qualification is on the NSW Skills List. The NSW Government will subsidize eligible students to undertake this qualification. There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
