Founded in 1964, Macquarie University is a public research university located in Sydney. With over 30,000 students and 2000 staff, it was the third university to be established in the metropolitan area of Sydney. The campus located in Macquarie Park within the high-technology corridor of Sydney’s Northern suburbs. The university offers more than 80 undergraduate courses and 120 postgraduate programs.

In the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Academic Rankings of World Universities, Macquarie ranks 262 worldwide. The university is also ranked among the national top five recipients of relative research income. Macquarie is home to some of the world's most pre-eminent researchers many of whom are members of the 18 Concentrations of Research Excellence.

Macquarie Business School's Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) has been one of Australia’s leading business schools for 50 years. MGSM courses combine practical learning and innovative thinking with a multidisciplinary approach.

Established in 1972, Macquarie Law School is the third oldest Law School in New South Wales. Often critical to the Macquarie Law School experience is interaction and involvement with the Macquarie University Law Society (MULS). MULS is one of those inimitable organizations that appreciates the importance of ensuring that students receive more than just a degree, by providing students with experiences that make them multi-skilled, highly capable and ambitious individuals.

Academic Programs

Masters Programs

  • Master of International Trade and Commerce Law (1 year full-time, or equivalent part-time): In this program, you'll extend your knowledge of the legal, governance and policy issues relevant to international and domestic trade and commerce, so that you develop a broad and well-rounded understanding of the area, as well as skills to advance your career. This is suitable for both law and non-law graduates seeking to extend their knowledge in this field. This course is available on campus, as well as online with intensive blocks of class, which means you can continue to work full-time while studying.
  • Double Degree - Master of Applied Economics and Master of International Trade and Commerce Law (2 years full-time, or equivalent part-time): This program has been carefully designed to provide students with state-of-the-art applied economics knowledge and skills that can be applied to these areas and many more. This innovative course also has two distinctive features: the importance placed on context and the application of theory to the solution of real world problems; and the opportunity for you to undertake interdisciplinary studies, which recognizes that applied economists work in increasingly varied and diverse fields that cross traditional discipline boundaries.
  • Entry Requirements: The basic admission qualification is the completion of a recognized bachelor degree and IELTS (Academic English only): Minimum 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section for international students, if required.
