International Logistics and Supply Chain Management Education in Germany

Founded in 1977 as a state university, the Kempten University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Kempten) is a university of applied sciences located in the Bavarian region of Allgäu, Kempten, Germany. The university focuses on practical, interdisciplinary, International and future-oriented higher education to help students find careers in the diverse economy of Bavaria. By collaborating with industry, business, communities, associations and organizations, Kempten University has achieved a prominent position in application-oriented research and technology transfer in the region.

The Professional School of Business & Technology is the competence center for postgraduate studies at Kempten University of Applied Sciences. Application-oriented post-graduate studies have been designed for university graduates and experienced practitioners who wish to increase their professional and personal competence, and who regard post-graduate studies as a life-long process.

  • MBA in International Business Management & Leadership with International Supply Chain Management Track (90 ECTS): This program is highly application-oriented and allows you to develop your personal leadership competencies. The program is carried out completely in English. A study module abroad, in South Africa, Thailand or Australia, is an integral part of the course. Additionally lectures are enriched by the experiences of international students and lecturers. The program develops the personal leadership competencies of each participant in a sustainable way. In addition to the FIBAA re-accreditation, the Kempten MBA was awarded the international EPAS accreditation and the accreditation is awarded by the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).
  • University Certificate in International Logistics Management (24 ECTS): Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) have turned out to be the most essential success factors of business due to the proceeding globalization, a shift of value creation factors and the rapid advancement of information and communications technologies. Current studies confirm that there is a crucial lack of skilled personnel in logistics. Even top management increasingly needs solid knowledge in logistics and SCM besides general management skills. Complex technologies have to be applied to achieve the best possible trade-off between the requested logistics services and the auxiliary costs. The contents taught have been designed specifically in order to meet these needs.
