Established in 1963, Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) s one of Singapore’s leading institutions of higher learning. Its eight academic schools offer a total of 49 full-time diploma courses. NP also offers a range of part-time diploma courses. The Polytechnic offers students a holistic learning experience through the Ngee Ann Learning Model (NLM), which emphasizes balanced and broad-based education. Academic Programs
Engineering Diploma Programs
- Diploma in Marine & Offshore Technology (3 years, full time):Diploma in Marine & Offshore Technology (3 years): In the first two years, you will be grounded with strong fundamentals of engineering, together with naval architecture, marine engineering and offshore design technology. Enhanced internships have also been rolled out for MOT students. In your final year, you will intern at a host company in the marine and offshore industry for six months and apply the skills learnt at the workplace.
- Diploma in Automation & Mechatronic Systems (3 years, full time): AMS prepares students for exciting careers in diverse sectors ranging from precision engineering, aerospace, electronics, energy and chemical, food manufacturing, marine & offshore and sea transport. You will learn to use emerging skills in robotics and automation, design thinking, Internet of Things (IoT) and data analytics to develop high-tech solutions for consumer products and industrial applications.
Business Diploma Programs
- Diploma in International Trade & Business (3 years, full time): This unique course gives you a solid grounding in business, trade and logistics, with a global focus. You will gain a broad-based understanding of international trade practices and supply chain management, and learn skills in key domain areas such as finance, purchasing and logistics. There may be opportunities for you to go on learning trips or even take on an overseas internship. To prepare graduates for the digital economy, final-year students from International Trade can choose to take the Business Digitalisation (BD) Track in their third year of studies. The BD Track will focus on key competency areas instead of subject modules.

Engineering Programs
- Diploma in Engineering (Marine) (2.5 years, part time): From Naval Architecture to basic principles relating to shipbuilding, you will learn how to apply marine hydrostatics, and engineering principles and operations of offshore drilling and offshore structures.
- Diploma (Conversion) in Marine & Offshore Technology (1 year, part time): From basics of marine engineering to concepts of ship design,you will learn about marine instrumentation and control system and an overview of the offshore oil and gas industry. You are required to complete 2 post-diploma certificates within a two-year validity period to be awarded the Diploma (Conversion) qualification.
- Specialist Diploma in Marine Production (1 year, part time): From marine production yard layout and production processes to marine commissioning and specialisation, you will learn about marine safety practices and standards.The course is suitable for working adults with a background in marine & offshore engineering or any engineering disciplines who wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge.
Business Programs
- Diploma in Business Practice (International Supply Chain Management) (2.5 years, part time): All you need to know about material planning, purchasing, distribution, transportation logistics and management with guidance from our experienced lecturers. The course is suitable for working adults who wish to upgrade themselves or seek employment in industries such as third party logistics companies, supply chain solutions providers, healthcare and many more. Get hired or move up in your current job with the recognized qualification.
Short Courses
- Maritime Automation Systems (3 weeks): Participants will be able to learn the usage and application of motion control systems in the maritime industry.
- Primer Course on LNG Vessel Design, Production and Operations (8 days): Get the basics of Marine LNG in this course and learn from experienced trainers in the Marine & Offshore fields.
- Introduction to Marine & Offshore Trends (5 days): This training form part of the transformation strategy to strengthen our shipyards technology and engineering capabilities to enable shipyards to move up the value chain to offer higher value-adding engineering solutions, as well as broadening their product suites.
- Introduction to Marine & Offshore Production (1 day): You’ll learn all about ships from terms used for their structural parts to basic processes in their production including offshore structures. You’ll also gain insights about the drilling and production of oil and gas.
- International Supply Chain Management for Digital Sales Support in Wholesale Trade (6-9 months): This is a basic/intermediate course for learners to pursue an entry-level career in operations, procurement and sourcing within the wholesale trade sector.
