The University of Canberra (UC) was established by the Commonwealth Government in 1967 as the Canberra College of Advanced Education. UC’s Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES) is the international centre of excellence for innovative training, education, professional development, technical assistance and capacity building in relation to customs, excise, revenue management, border management and related areas. The Master of Business Administration in Strategic Procurement has been designed to develop the professional management competencies of current and future leaders in strategic procurement, who seek to enhance their career prospects in business and government organizations, locally, nationally and internationally. The course focuses on total lifecycle approaches to strategic procurement. The course has been developed in consultation with the Australian Procurement and Construction Council, key agencies in the Commonwealth, state and territory and local governments, and industry, to ensure its relevance to the local, national and international business environments.

- Graduate Certificate in International Customs Law and Administration (Online – 1 Semester)

The Graduate Certificate/Diploma and Masters in International Customs Law and Administration is designed for law or non-law graduates who wish to develop their knowledge of international customs law and administration. Candidates will be able to increase their knowledge in key areas, including international customs law, International Trade law, the WTO and other areas of trade regulation.
- Graduate Certificate in International Revenue Administration (Online – 1 Semester)

The Graduate Certificate, Diploma & Master in International Revenue Administration is designed for law and non-law graduates who wish to develop their skills in the administration of government revenues. The course will cover international models and approaches to revenue management, while assisting students to apply these principles in their own domestic context. The course will be particularly suited to government officials, tax and excise accountants and company executives responsible for the implementation of, and compliance with, revenue policies and legislation. The course will examine policy, legislation and administration in the key areas of direct and indirect taxation, customs and excise.
- Graduate Certificate in Excise Studies (Online – 1 Semester)
- Graduate Diploma in Excise Studies (Online – 2 Semesters)
The courses are structured to cater to a range of student audience from revenue collecting agencies, revenue policy making agencies and industry sectors which are subject to commodity based taxation. The courses provide a unique qualification for professionals both in Government and the private sector and allow for further specialization into specific commodities such as alcohol, tobacco or fuels or excise policy development. Both courses are subsumable into the Master in International Customs Law and Administration/the Master in International Revenue Administration. Thus, having completed the Certificate or Diploma, a student may opt to undertake studies leading to any of the Masters courses.
Masters Program - Combined Degrees
- Masters combined degree course in International Customs Law and Administration and International Revenue Administration (Online – 4 Semesters): This is a 48 credit point course (equivalent to 2 years full-time study) which enables candidates to complete two Masters Degrees within one period of candidature. It is designed for law and non-law graduates who wish to develop their skills in the administration of border management. Students will develop their knowledge in areas such as international customs law, international trade law, the WTO and other areas of trade regulation. - Canberra Award: The Canberra Award is a certificate of the University of Canberra awarded to students at graduation. It acknowledges those students who undertake an active program of personal development over the course of their university studies. It focuses on the development of transferable skills gained through academic work, work experience paid or voluntary, participation in community activities and completing work-related short courses. It operates alongside, but separate from, degree programs and participation is voluntary.
